Gardener of the Week

Our Gardener of the
Week goes to Mr. and
Mrs. Terry Page at 1107
Georgia. The front
yard has a nice carpet of
grass with two oak trees
and a cedar tree which
was used as a Christ-
mas tree in Bay Town by
Mrs. Page's parents be-
fore their retirement.
The bench by the en-
trance holds pots of Pe-
tunias, Shrimp plant.
Kalanchoe, and a Poin-
pots with Houseleek and
Jew, and hanging bas-
kets of English Ivy and
Succulents.
On the South side of
the house is a pomegran-
ate bush and on the
North are English Ivy
and a Yucca.
lhe back yard is
fenced for privacy and
has a patio with an as-
sortment of potted
plants. There are pecan
trees and a non-bearing
Mulberry tree for shade.
All interested in learn
ing to play bridge are
to register with Mrs.
J. L. Werst, Jr. between
now and Wednesday
evening, September 16.
A series of beginner's
bridge lessons will take
place at the Big Lake
Golf Club beginning
promptly at 7 p.m. Wed-
nesday nights of each
week.
Mrs. J. L. Werst, Jr.
will instruct and all in-
terested parties are in-
vited to participate. It
is not necessary to be or
to become a member of
the golf club.
This notice is to in-
form those who have
already expressed a
wish to Mrs. Werst to
learn the game and for
others in the area who
will be interested.

Everyone is invited to
attend the 1981 State
4-H Fashion Revue
"Dressin' Texas' to be
held September 16-18
in San Angelo. It's
not often State 4-H
events are held so close
to home.
The latest in fashions
for teens will be modeled
along with new fabrics,
notions and techniques.
It's fun to see what
young women and men
can sew.
The events for the
public begin on Thurs-
day, September 17 at
7:30 p.m. in San An-
gelo Convention Center.
The State 4-H Fashion
Revue contestants will
model their garments.
Afterwards, the first
place method demon-
stration, State Clothing
Educational Activity will
be shown along with the
second place, State
4-H Share-the-Fun con-
test.
On Friday, Septem-
ber 18 at 10:30 an edu-
cational program will be
sponsored by Janice
Hipp, Simplicity Pat-
tern Co., and Vickie
Murphy, Butterick Pat-
tern Co. From 11:45
till 12:30 a Buffet Lunch-
eon will be served at the
San Angelo Convention
Center large meeting
room. At 12:30 p.m. the
second place State cloth-
ing method demonstra-
tion will be shown.
Then, the fashion re-
vue contestants will
model their garments.
The awards program will
conclude the 3 day
event.
Many awards are pre-
sented to the top win-
ners. Come watch this

Last Thursday, seven
members of the Reagan
Garden Club left town at
9:00 o’ clock in the morn-
ing with plants, pots,
and food, headed for the
John Patterson Ranch
at Stiles. The group was
greated at the ranch by
John and Esther Pat-
terson. Those who have
visited with the Patter-
sons avow, "a day spent
in their home is always
a treat.'
