B&PW Scholarship during gradu-
ation exercises May 28. The

her parents Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Sory. Cathy is a student at La-

Mrs. Caroline Towler, a long
time resident of Saratoga has
gone to Jenning La. to make her
home. She sold her home to
Mrs. Ruby White and bought a
home in La. where her son re-
sides.
Mrs. Guy Flowers, Jr. made
a trip to Almeda, Calif, and is
visiting with her daughter and
grand-daughter Mrs. Beverly Ann'
Beeler and Ginger Ann.
We wish to extend our deep-
est sympathy to the R. E. Teel
family who recently lost their
loved ones.
Mrs. Luc Macias and son Ja-
bier from Mexico City, Mexico,
were guest in the home of Mr .
and Mrs. Fred Gallender. This
was a surprise visit and also their
first visit to America. Mrs. Gal-
lander had not seen her sister in
twelve years. A Barbeque Chic-
ken. supper and a number of
luncheons were given them dur-
ing their visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Borowski entertained diem in
their home and they enjoyed a
Barbeque supper in the home of
Mr. and Mrs.* Jake White, in
Kountze. They greatly appreci-
ated the American people for
their hospitality,
Mr. Wilton Cain and little
daughter Carol, of Houston, were
visitors in the home of Mrs. A.
W. Roark.
Mrs. Jack Eakins is a patient
in the Baptist Hospital. We wish
her a speedy recovery.

HONORS SENIORS
The West Hardin FHA chapter
used their last /meeting oi the
school year to honor the senior
girls who were members ot the
chapter; They ;were presented
with certificates showing that
they had graduated or comple-
ted the work required by Future
Homemakers of America.
For the program,reports were
given ab®ut the State FHA meet-
ing at Dallas by the delegates
who attended the^meetmg. These
girls were Rita Blown, Elizabeth
Brown and Aileehjvlartin.
Charlene Tajiner and Julia
Ann Nugent were given Junior
Homemaking Degree certificates
and Rita, Brown was given a chap-
ter Homemaking Degree certif-'
icate. Refreshments were served
to the group.

Vows were spoken by Miss
Gail Moore and Mr. Joseph Jules
Landry at 7:30 p. m. Saturday
in the Methodist Church at
Kountze. Rev. J. A. Hendrix was
the olficiant.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr*, and Mrs. Herbert Moore of
Kountze, and the bridegroom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
B. Read of Silsbee.

Co. will give demonstrations on
freezing foods, and short cuts
for laundering in the homemak-
ing department of the West Har-
din High School, June 8, 1965
from 9-11 A. M.
This will be part of the adult
program planned by Mrs. Bernice
Britt, homemaking teacher of
West Hardin school. All ladies
in the area are invited to at-
tend. Also high school home-
making students are welcome.
FHA MEMBERS AT-
TEND WORKSHOP
Rita Brown, area HI fifth vice-
president and local FHA presi-
dent, Charlene Tanner, Julia Ann
Nugent and Dianna Taylor will
go to the FHA leadership work-
shop, near La Grange, with their
FHA advisor, Mrs. Bernice Britt.
The workshop will be held at the
Lutherian Camp a few miles from
L&Grange. The theme for the
meeting is Building Blocks for
FHA Leadership.

were Mr. Thomas Butts and Mr.
David Landry. The two junior
groomsmen were Mr. Dwight
McCormick and the brother of
the bride, Mr. Larry Moore.
The two junior groomsmen
were also the candlelighters.
A reception was held in the
church after the ceremony.
Miss Betsy Simms sang "The
Wedding Prayer."
• After a wedding trip to New
Orleans Mr. and Mrs. Landry
will be at home at 3100 North
Pecan St., Nachgdoches, Texas.
The groom is a member of
Theta Chi fraternity and will re-
ceive his degree from Stephen
F. Austin State College in Au-
gust.
