‘Scotty” Scott mans the station Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday
from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m. Hours on Sunday are from noon
:o 6 p.m. The dock is closed Wednesday and Thursdays. Contributors can
collect cash and Whataburgcr coupons.

An American flag to fly in memory
of the late Kenney Scales will be pre-
sented to the ?Or» Aran?*»« I innecc
Club Wednesday, April 26.
The flag will be presented by Chris
Opel, manager of the Port Aransas
Whataburgcr, whose parents arc ac-
tive in Lionism in Germany.
The flag will be flown in front of the
Lioness meeting place during every
meeting. A plaque at the base of the
flagpole will commemorate Scales’
contributions to the club.
Scales was an active Lion and a
staunch supporter of Lionesses, hav-
ing served as pit boss for the club’s
major fundraising event, Casino N ight,
from its inception in 1986.
He died suddenly Jan. 1 from com-
plications of a heart attack. He had
been president of Island Stale Bank.
The meeting will be at Beachhead
Condominium at 7 p.m. and is open to

honored as winner
of Lioness contest
Robert Heitkamp of Corpus Christi
has been named the winner of the Port
Aransas Lioness Club’s contest to
design a logo and pin.
The contest was featured in the
South Jetty during October and the
winner was recently selected.
Hcitkamp’s colorful pin design
features a loaded ferryboat with dol-
phins jumping from the water in the
foreground. Palm trees sway in the
background and the Lioness L is in the
lower right corner. The words “Port
Aransas, T&” arc featured over a blaz-
ing sun in the lower right corner.
Pins may be purchased from Lion-
ess members for $4 each to support
Lioness fundraising activities.
Heitkamp will be presented an ap-
preciation plaque with a prototype of
the pin he designed at the Lioness
.meeting Wednesday, April .26.
