A JOINT RESOLUTION
Making an appropriation for the purchase of a Library for the
Republic of Texas.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
Republic of Texas in Congress assembled, That the sum of ten
thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby appropriated for the
purpose of purchasing a Library for the use of the Government of
Texas, and the secretary of the treasury is hereby required to issue
the promissory notes of the Government to that amount; and the
President is hereby authorized to draw for the same, and to purchase
such books as in his judgment and circumstances most require;
and said books shall be deposited in the office of the secretary

Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Requesting the Treasurer to pay the Salaries of Clerks Monthly.
Sec. 1. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the Republic of Texas in Congress assembled, That the Treasurer
be, and he is hereby authorized and required to pay the Clerks
of the various departments and bureaus their salaries regularly on
the first of every month, in the promissory notes of the Government;
and a sufficient amount thereof is hereby specially appropriated
for said purpose.
