Mexico City Mexr June 27 Gov-
ernment troops are pursuing the al-
leged band of revolutionists who raid-
ed Vieseca and attacked Las Vecas
Government authorities deny the up-
rising is due to a mere band of ban-
dits but fear it is an outbreak of the
people generally and a revolt against
the government They give credit to
the reports of a revolt planned for
July 1 and think these outbreaksa
part of the plot
Scores ot persons have been ar-
rested at El Paso and Casas Grandes
which indicates a conspiracy
At Vieseca but little resistance was
offered the bandits who completely
looted the town At Las Vecas the
band was repulsed
Soldiers overtook the band of revo-
lutionists that attacked Vieseca at
Matamoras and one revolutionist was
captured Two known allies are at-
Las Vecas Many Mexicans are flee-
ing into Texas

committee of the national democratic
committee is meeting this afternoon
to outline a program for the big con-
vention
Mayor Dahlman of Omaha Bryans
representative confirmed the rumor
that Bryan wants Theodore Bell of
California as temporary chairman and
Congressman Clayton of Alabama as
permanent chairman These will
probably be chosen It has developed
that Brayns first choice for tempo-
rary chairman was Senator Bailey of
Texas The latter however has wired
that his health will not permit his at-
tending the convention
The convention hall is now com-
plete Pictures figure in the decora-
tions It is believed the picture of
Bryan is concealed in the draperies
to be unflung when he is nominated
