Another organization associat-
ed with the Cuero Fire Depart-
ment is the Men's Auxiliary who
are also well-trained in fire
fighting and of valuable assis-!
tance to the regular firemen!
when the need arises.
The unit boasts a membership
of 49 men who meet the second
Monday in each month.
Business transactions are car-
ried out at these meetings after
which a drill is conducted for
about a two-hour period.
The auxiliary participates in
the same type drills as the re-
gulars by practicing with the
various pumpers, lines, nozzles
and other equipment utilized by
firemen.
Each and every one of the
I auxiliary members is on call at
all times as the regulars, but it
is not compulsory for them to
answer first alarm fires unless
they so desire
The primary function of this
group is to answer all second
alarm fires, or in a case where
a disastrous fire breaks out and
the regulars are hard put for as-
sistance.
j According to Chief Lester
| Frers, Cuero is very fortunate
1 in having such a fine group of
1 nun so well-trained in fire
fighting to assist the regulars
when the need arises
Total membership of the
groups, the regulars and
auxiliary unit, adds up to
firemen on dub and call At all fires 2nd ^ice-president and T t
