$2,000 Tax Break of the Year!
Retirement Funds Now Available
The new Individual Retirement Account is designed to give you a
break on your taxes. Beginning January 1, 1982, anyone with earned
income can open an Individual Retirement Account, even if you are
already covered by a company retirement program.
Here’s how it works:
You can invest up to $2,000 a year in your Individual
Retirement Account and deduct this amount from your gross income.
You can earn money market rates* on your account and have the
added benefit of a tax deferral until funds are withdrawn.
When funds are withdrawn at retirement, you should be in a lower
tax bracket.
At Republic State Bank I.R.A. depositors are fully protected by the
FDIC up to $100,000. Every time you invest in your I.R.A., you’re
saving on taxes while you’re saving for retirement. Visit us today and
ask for more information on the new I.R.A. Then start saving.

fitness activities including
aerobic dancing, and intro-
duction to weights, jogging
and rope jumping. “The
class will be tailored to
individual needs,” Swim
said.
“Each person can work
at her or his own pace. By
monitoring their pulse
rate, everyone can esta-
blish their own training le-
vels.”
Swim says she expects
the class to result in an
appreciation of how impor-
tant health and physical
fitness are and hopes stu-
dents will carry those val-
ues over into their lives.
“After all,” she says,
“if you haven’t got your
health what do you have?”
Swim received her mas-
ter’s degree in education
with a specialization in
physical education from
Eastern Kentucky Univer-
sity. She taught for two
years at Nazarene College
in Idaho and taught and
coached for three years in
the Idaho public school
system. She joined the San
Jacinto College South phy-
sical education faculty in
September of 1981.
