nual Christmas party of members
of the WSCS of the Methodist
Church.

Christmas decorations were used
throughout the house.
Gifts were placed under a beau-
tifully lighted and decorated Christ-
mas tree.
Mrs. Melvin Horany, leader, op-
ened the meeting when she in-
troduced Mrs. Bennie Fichte of
Megargel, who sang two lovely
Christmas songs, accompanied at
the piano by Mrs. C. C. Wooster.
Mrs. R. L. Hancock presented a
devotional, using the beloved scrip-
ture from the 2nd Chapter of
Luke’s gospel.
Mrs. Melvin Horany reviewed
the book “Home for Christmas’’
by Lloyd C. Douglas.
Gifts were exchanged and re-
freshments of spiced hot tea and
cake squares were served by Mrs.
Cora Hull, Mrs. Don Ikard and
Mrs. Seay.
Three visitors, Mrs. Gene Crutch-
er, Mrs. Jesse Dea and Mrs. Fichte,
together with 18 members enjoyed
the affair.

HOLLIDAY SENIORS HAVE
PROGRESSIVE DINNER
Holliday seniors celebrated the
Yuletide season with a progressive
dinner party Friday evening. The
class with sponsors, Mrs. Alice
Howard and Wayne Kendall, met
at the school house and went to
the Jack Robertson home at Man-
kins for the appetizer course. Mrs.
Robertson and Mrs. Leslie Finnell
were hosteses. The next stop was
at the W. S. Thomas home in Hol-
liady for the salad course with
Mmes. Hester and Smith assisting
Mrs. Thomas as hostesses.
Last stop was at Harrell Park
where the room mothers prepared
and served the main course. Table
games concluded the evening for
the group who were Jeanine Row-
ell, George Jacobs, Tommy Thom-
as, Joe Smith, J. T. Phillips, Les-
lie B. Finnell, Jr., Linda Lester,
Judy Woods, Erma Lee Hallum,
Peggy Turner, Shirley Dodd, Lew
Ella Wilmut, Hershel Wortham,
Betty Robertson, C. A. Newsom,
Billy Brackeen, Leon Eaves, Leon
Walker, Nancy Gardiner, Sherry
Nielson, Roxy Evans, Junette Hes-
ter, Geraldine Boyd, Harlene Bry-
son, Peggy Provence, and Wendell
and Margie Woods. Room mothers
are Mrs. W. D. Rowell, Hallum, J.
B. Bryson and Fred Lester.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Albritton of
Wichita Falls were Sunday night
diners in the home of Mrs. L. N.
Peyton and Sue in this city, after-
ward attending the Christmas can-
tata in which Sue was pianist.

HOMEMAKERS S. S. CLASS
Decorations in keeping with the
Christmas season were used for
the party held by the Homemakers
Sunday School Class Thursday eve-
ning in the home of Mrs. P. J.
Hulse, with Mrs. B. P. Berry and
Mrs. Ben Page as hosteses.
The house was gaily decorated
in the Christmas motif.
The meeting was called to or-
der by the class president, Mrs.
H. E. Nowell.
The opening prayer was given
by Mrs. Carl Coffman.
Mrs. Perry Pittman brought the
devotional taken from the 2nd
Chapter of Luke.
Mrs. Charlie Stewart directed
the group in a game entitled “Mer-
ry Christmas.”
Mrs. B. P. Berry brought a Christ-
mas story entitled “Christmas
Bells.”
Gifts were distributed to those
present from a beautifully decorat-
ed tree.
The class gave an offering of
$23.75 to the Lottie Moon Mission
fund. This paid for four minutes
of mission work around the world.
A lovely refreshment plate was
served to the following:

Rhoades, Bill Robertson, B. P. Ber-
ry, Ben Page, W. O. Powell, Gus
Estill, Charlie Stewart, Price Blair,
Perry Pittman, Monte Moore, H. E.
Nowell, Nellie Davis, Lester Sar-
tain, Carl Coffman, Joe Shelton
and P. J. Hulse and Miss Zella
Mae Groves.

DELPHIANS MEET AT HOME
OF MRS. VIRGIL SEAY
The beautifully decorated home
of Mrs. Virgil Seay was the setting
for the Christmas luncheon of the
Alpha Archer Delphian Society
Tuesday.
Mrs. R. L. Hancock gave the in-
vocation before the delicious meal

an enchanting version of The
Christmas Story, interspersing it
with appropriate Christmas songs
by a vocal trio, Mrs. Ann Berry-
man, Mrs. J. W. Sturgeon and tha

by Mrs. Sturgeon.
