over Henrietta Friday night
The game was played at Hen-

also had another sure td slip
just off his finger tips in the
contest.

The Bearcats wound up with a
minus eight yards rushing.
The passing combo accounted
for the first two Holliday scores
and the first one capped a 62
yard drive in 11 plays. The
five yard scoring shot ended
a 50 yard drive in nine plays.
The Eagles upped the margin
to 18-0 before halftime as the

the distance in three plays.
Gilmore put up the points on
a six yard run.

drive that took 11 plays. The
final Holliday td was a 59-
yard drive that culminated with
Ricky Allgood going over from
the two.

Carlton put Henrietta’s only
score on the board as he block-

ball and raced 20 yards for the
goal.

The Archer City Wildcats
played “ho-hum” football for
45 minutes Saturday night in
Wichita Falls before getting
serious and pulling out a 8-7
win over the hosting Notre Dame
Knights for the last non-
conference game of the season.
The locals appeared “flat” for
most of the contest, contented
to move the ball into scoring
range only to throw an inter-
ception, fumble or have a costly
penalty assessed.
Archer City moved to the
Knight’s 20 or inside five times
in the contest before going over
on their sixth march. The scor-
ing drive began on the Wild-
cat's own six yard line with only
3:03 remaining in the contest.
Trailing 7-0 the Wildcats went
the distance in 12 plays. The
big plays in the drive was 8 21-
yard burst by fullback Ward
Campbell from Archer City’s
16 to the 37 with 2:06 remaining.
The other big play was a pitch-
back from QB Johnny Hudson
to Casey Rodgers who lofted
a strike to Terry Lear at the
Knight’s three yard line. Lear
had two Knights draped all over
him when he made the catch.
Rodgers then hit over left guard
for two and then Hudson squirm-
ed through a small opening over
the same spot for the tally.
Rodgers then slanted over right
guard where he was contested
at the line but managed to bull
his way over for the two extra
points and the winning margin.
The winning touchdown came
with only :29 seconds remain-
ing in the contest.
Notre Dame got on the score-
board early in the third period
after they had successfully co-
vered an on-side kick following
