ing sent to Germany for duty
with the Army He has been sta-
tioned in Philadelphia. Pa. and
they have lived in nearby Cam-
den, N. J , in that time.
U. Lobaugh has been in the
Army for almost two years. He
will leave here on October 10
for the east coast and will be
shipped out from there. Mrs. L<>-
baugh and the baby will stay
with her parents while he is
gone.

furniture out of the large fam-
ily room earlier that day and
decorated the room with beatnik
pictures, candles in bottles and
large pillows for everyone to sit
on the floor. They sang, danced,
played games and just enjoyed
looking at all of the costumes.

poetry while Sue Eichbiatt play-
ed the flute and Carolyn Craven
the bongo drums.
The party especially honored
the new members who had come
up from the Pioneer group.

Eileen Kelly of the Sinton Will-
ing Workers 4-H Club was nam-
ed by a committee of eight as
....... Gold Star Girl of San Patricio
Dumas I County for 1961. The Gold Star
award is the highest county
county award provided and
serves as a means of recogniz-
ing outstanding achievement and
leadership.
This is Eileen's seventh year
in 4-H club work. During these
years she has carried projects
in clothing, dress revue, foods
and nutrition, bedroom im-
provement, home improvement,
and yard improvement, receiv-
ing six project pins. She has tak-
en home ribbons of honor from
District Eliminations, County
Dress Revue and County Youth
Show.
Eileen has served on the Coun-
ty 4-H Council and has held ev-
ery club office. She takes an
active part in county programs
and has helped both members
and non members with their
sewing problems. Eileen feels
that her experiences in 4-H will
better qualify her for the future
both as a homemaker and a cit-
izen. She will receive her Gold
Star Pin at the District 12 Gold
Star Award Banquet to be held
at the Driscoll Hotel in Corpus
Christi. Saturday, October 21.

being asked to accompany the
Gold Star girl to the banquet.
The 1961 Gold Star boy from
San Patricio County is Jerome
most willing to accept any as-
signment that is given him. IXtr-

has missed only four otit erf 91
scheduled meetings. This i* the
3rd year that a Gold Star Boy
has been selected from the St.
Paul Community 4-H Ciub.

Has Birthday
■Last Wednesday was Karen
Randolph’s twelfth birthday and
her mother. Mrs- Carl Ran-
dolph, invited some family mem-
bers in to help her celebrate.
Birthday cake and ice cream
were served to them during the
evening. Those present were
Mrs Irving Rauch of Sinton
and Mr and Mrs. H. M. Beyer,
along with Karen’s brothers.
Taft Girls In
Rainbow Group
Four Taft girls are now mem-
bers of the Rainbow Assembly
No. 11 of Sinton and two were
installed as officer# recently.
Sue Eichbiatt is the new chap-
lain and Alline Wilhite is love.
The other two members are
Donna Mayfield and Marie
Mathis. They attend meeting*

Jerome is a very conscientious
member of his 4-H Club and is

day from 4 to 6 p. m. The *chool
is located at 528 West Fourth
Street in Sinton.

known as the Weldon School of
Dance.
Mrs. Sanders Has
Bridge Club Meet
Mrs. R. B. Sander* entertain-
ed her bridge club Monday ev-
ening and had one extra guest,
Mrs. Jack Callins. Mr*. Jack
Jones won toe high score prize
and the low prize went to Mr*.
C. J. Toland.
Cookies, dips and coffee were
served during the evening.
