Sinton’s First Bale of Cotton
The first bale of cotton brought
to Sinton this season came in yes-
terday morning and many more will
soon follow.
It was ginned and wrapped free,
and was sold yesterday to Mr. D.
Odem, who paid $75.00 for It,
which was about $13.50 more than
the market price.
This bale weighed 1C00 pounds
in the seed and was raised by J. E.
a 60 acre farm Tuesday from Dr.
ed six miles south of Sinton, and
H. B. Clement. This land is locat-
sold for $66.00 per acre„yet some
people are inclined to think the
price of land around Sinton ie too
high. In a few years this same
farm will perhaps bring $100.00 per
acre aa easy as it was sold for the
above price, if Mr. Farqubar1 should
decide to sell.

Government Report Shows No Gin-Cut
Cotton For Gerdes Gin
The official report of the U. S. Department of Agricuture whichfT&s recently been released shows that our gin at
Sinton was credited with no gin-cut cotton out of a total of 2593. This means that each bale we ginned last year
was handled with care and was turned out with a clean uncut staple, and you know the effect of this on the price that
you . receive for your cotton. This record is one of which we justly feel proud. We are also proud of the high
standard attained by San Patricio County cotton. Of the total number pf 2,593 bales ginned by us last year,
93.2 per cent was tenderable, 55.6 per cent was classed white middling or better and 2,025 bales were of staple
lengths from 1 inch to 1 7-32 inches.
Following is a summary of the cotton grade and staple report for our gin compiled by U. S. Department of Agriculture:
