Mr. and Mis. C. S. Hilton, Jr. mo-
tored to Saif Antonio Saturday to
meet Mrs. C. S. Hilton, Sr. on her
return trip from Silver City, New
Mexico where she visited six weeks
with her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Lockridge.
Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Charles and
children, Mona, Candy, and Frank
and Mrs. Lee Sapson, all of San An-
tonio, were recent visitors in the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Good-
man and Marvin.

are the proud grandparents of a
boy, James Thomas Owen HI. He
was born to Mr. and Mrs. James
Travis Owen of College Station on

for boys and girls near Fort Davis/
was in Sinton Tuesday and met with
various citizens at the Presbyterian
Fellowship Hall. Mr. Prude was a

Gordon.

P-TA Conference Set
For April 2-3 In Alice
At the Lamar Elementary P-TA
meeting Monday night, officers for
the coming year were elected; Mrs.
Libby Willis, vice-president; Mrs.
Catherine Roland, secretary and
Mrs. R. W. Pool, Jr., treasurer. The
office of president remained vacant.
During the business meeting it
was announced that the spring P-TA
Conference will be held April 2, 3,
in Alice, Texas.
Rev. Harold Goodenough spoke to
the group on “Faith Through Moral
and Spiritual Strength”.
It was announced that the 4th, 5th,
and 8th grades will compete in
class work by writing essays on
“American Heritage”, and the best
in each class will be read at the
next meeting. The winner in each
class will also receive a prize.
Mrs', J. D. Carlisle’s room won the
attendance prize.
Hospitality chairman for the eve-
ning, Mrs. Glover McClintock, served
coffee to the 26 members who at-
tended.
Band Boosters Hold
Monthly Meet Monday
The Band Boosters held a meet-
ing the Band Hall Monday night
with Mrs. Alvin Bremer, vice presi-
dent, presiding.
It was reported that the Cain Cof-
fee Company has volunteered to fur-
nish coffee urns for the concession
stand at the football games.
All band students will be given a
party in the near future.
Mrs. R. C. Wright, chairman for
the senior band party, announced
that seniors have set the date for
their party for February 23.
Ken Edwards presented the group
with a first-aid-kit.
The Band Boosters wish to ex
tend their sympathy to Mr. and Mrs.
Slater Loughlin on the death of Mrs,
Loughlin's father.
Twenty-six boosters attended the
meeting.

Austin Thursday and Friday visiting
