outh through Tioga, leaving the pike
oad and traveling for more Hum two
idles on dirt road through sand. The
Iriver was forced to drive more than
t quarter of u mile in intermediate
.ear because of sand. It is esti-
nated lliat Hie ear would easily have
mule between ,38 and 40 miles laid it
mt been for tile sand and liard pulls.

even and four tenths miles of Hie

-ere made, which materially affects
lie mileage to lid gained as it takes
nore gasoline to make a turn in the
oad than it does running straight.
The time required to make tlie trip
vas one hour and 58 minutes.
The two ears making tlie test were
■quipped with red gasoline tanks, ft*-
ed on Hie wind shield which held
nt one gallon of gasoline according
ij actual measurement. These cans
rofe attached directly to the carbuer-

inder Hu* direction of the judges. A
1 borough examination was madp to
eo that there were no other oonnec-
ions with the engines of Hie ears.
Tlie test was an exceptionally good
i ne. and proves tlie claims of the man-
ifacturers of the Maxwell that they
ire able to get a maximum amount of
nileage from every gallon of gaso-
ine used in their ears. Tlie ears used
n tlie test were old ears and were
et prepared for the test.
A party of four automobile loads of
