London, Xi.v. i t. Its armies
beaten in every battle and its
broken forces now barked into the

Turkey lias appealed to Bulgaria for
an armistice. Uulgariu is unlikely
to consent except on conditions full
of advantnke to herself. Turkey's
move probably will result iu leaving
Constinople in Turkish possession.

After having been out over twenty-

the state against Pearl Forester re-
turned a \erdi"' into the eouit at a
little before noon today, finding her
guilty of misdemeanor theft and as-
sessed her pun s'linent. at one dolLir

Tho young woman was tried for
ilieft of a silk dress from tie'
» rook-Rei ord company, the alleged
value of whi'di was »Sf>. There be-
ing some disciepancy as to the real
value of the garment as testified to
by witnesses, the discrepancy ranging
from $47) to $x.">, the jury gave the
girl the benefit of the doubt and
reduced the ofleiisa to" a misde-
meanor.
There was also a discrepancy in
tne evidence which created douhf as
to the time when the alleged thefi
was committed. which induced
some of Hie jurors to Insist, on a
verdict of acquittal. For instance, it
was testified that the dress was tak-
"en from the store late in the after-
noon of October when other wit
nesses swore mat the box in whtcu
the dress was shipped to b.-erman
was delivered at the express Hjfiie
early in the morning of October 2,
several hours before the ureas was
ulleged to have been stolen. |
There are two other cases against
the girl, which will be tried next
