From the Kansas City Times, March 29th.
The gass men of New York will
strike for eight hours on the 7th of
April.
Gen. Fremont thinks he was han-
dled rather roughly by the Paris
courts.
The plasterers of New York have
made a demand for $4.50, and will
strike in case of a refusal.
One Lutrix has been arrested at
Springfield, 111., charged with the
murder of Kate Frances, who is sup-
posed to be his wife.
A negro named Chas. Manley was
hung at Alexandria, Va., on the 28th
ult., for the murder of an old white
man named Mourse, in July last.
The Cuban government has or-
dered the liberation of 10,000 slaves.
Advices from San Salvador say
that town was destroyed by an earth-
quake on the 4th of March.
An insane American was arrested
at Windsor Castle, because he wished
to see the Queen, whom he said was
his mother.
The report that Don Carlos had
abdicated is denied by prominent
Carlists in London.
Barnum is out again with his big
show, and paraded the streets of New
York on the 28th.
Rather than give bond, George
Francis Train prefers to stay in the
“American Bastile.”
Thomas Smith, the negro murderer
was executed at Louisville, on the
28th ult. He protested innocence to
to the last.
An incendiary fire destroyed a
whole block of buildings at Cheyenne.
Wyoming, on the 28th ult.
