If the (unctions ol the liver are in any
wav disordered, the whole body, and not
only the body, but the mind, sympathizes
with the disturbed organ. Billions com-

disease; and to remove the bile, as wel'
as to regulate the liver, you only have to
take Simmons’ Liver Regulator, which
will impart new life and vigor to the

The Sherman Board ofTrade has issued
a circular in which it assures farmers
that “Sherman will not allow any one to
pay higher prices than we do in Sher-
man.” How much such assurance is
worth can he inferred when Sherman
does as she did quite recently—let a lot of
nearly fifteen hundred buffalo hides leave
that town because they would not pay as
much as tee Denison house of W. C.

broadcast copies of the Daily Register,
with its damaging reports, and willful
misrepresentations of our merchants,
throughout this and adjoining count es.
The Board of Trade has been revived,

which covetly insinuates while praising
the honesty of Sherman business men,
that those of rival towns cheat in weights,
and are sending out false and damaging
reports against Sherman.
The object of a.1 this is, of course, to
build up the city of Sherman at the ex-
pense of Denison. Our citizens should
bestir themselves, and counteract these
damaging reports about our city by send-
ing out copies of our local papers in
quantities sufficient to reach every family
in this and adjoining counties, and then
take the trouble to see that they go there.
The Board of Tiade, or a committee of
business men, should he appointed to
draft a circular, setting forth the advan-
tages of our market, and counteract the
influence of false reports with a plain
statement offsets.
l'here is no question about Denison
being the best market in North Texas for
cotton, hides and nearly every otherhome
product; it is equally as true that goods
can be bought as cheap here as at any
point in the .State, and are so bought
everyday. Our citizens have, howeyer
strong prejudices tw overcome, prejudices
which originated in and kept alive and
stimulated in every conceivable way, by
Sherman. The time has come when
Sherman business men envy our prospe-
rity and fear our business growth, and
they will leave no opportunity unem-
ployed to prejudice the farming commu-
nity against us It then behooves all
to be vigilent. Combat every misstate-
ment with facts, anil by means of prin-
ter's ink spread a knowledge ol our super-
ior advantages.
YVe have made arrangements to issue a
special edition of the Daily News tor
gratuitous circulation which will contain
an abundance of just such information
concerning our city as a market, our prin-
cipal business houses, etc. as should go out
among the people. This issue will be
distinct from our regular publication, and
contain over double the amount of read,
ing matter. YVe are doing this at the
suggestion of a number of our prominent
citizens, many of whom have ordered
from one t» three hundred copies. The
matter is now in course of preparation,
and meantime one of the News corps
will call on our citizens and take orders,
that we may know how many copies to
issue. The larger the issue the better,
and we will agree to distribute any sur-
plus papers our business men may have.

Mr. W. F. Davey, whom we mentioned j
a few days since as arranging to go into I
the manufacture of cigars in this city, ar-
rived from Canton, 11 Is., Monday morn-
ing. His goods have been shipped, and
will arrive during the week. He is now
negotiating for a business house. We
clip the following Irom the Canton Ga-
zette :
Canton now has one cigar mnnufaetoiy
less than it had a few months since, bv
the removal by Davey A Gardiner of
their manufactory to Denison, Texas.
This manufactory was in operat on nine
months. It did a good business, in-
1 rea.'itig each month, and manufactured,
fluring the time, 500,000 cigars. Of this
number all were sold except 30,000. which
thev have taken to Texas, to to m the be-
ginning of a trade there. These cigars
were justly popular with the trad—none j
better in the market; and we have 110 j
doubt their manufacture will stand equa1- j
lv as high in the Southern market as they |
did here. 1 tavey & Gardiner are young J
imui of enterprise and business pluck, 1
honorable in their dealings, and will no |
0 mbt soon win a high position among
the business men in their new locality.
1 hev arA both Fulton count'- boys, and ,
we shall watch their future with a great
degree of interest. May happiness and
prosperity be their fortune.
