Obituaries
Wanda Blankenship
Wanda Blankenship, 86, passed away
Jan. 29, 2014. She was born April 8, 1927
in Brownfield, to William and Gladys
Hendrickson Noel.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, William Alfred
Blankenship Sr.; brothers, R.C., Turner,
Boyd and Jennings; sisters, Mary Helen,
Viola and Lillie; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Fred
Blankenship (Patti), and daughter,
Shirley Blankenship, both of Ingleside;
sisters, La Veda Brooks of Burleson and Melba Kriedel of Midland;
four grandchildren, Michael (Melina), Greg (Bridgett), Philip
and Andrew; and seven great-grandchildren, Ben, Adria, Logan,
Hunter, Jeffrey, Noah and Lucy.
Visitation was held from noon until 4p.m. with family present
to receive friends from 2-4p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at Charlie Marshall
Funeral Home. A funeral service was held at 10a.m. Monday, Feb.
3, at Bethel Baptist Church in Ingleside. Interment followed at The
Palms Memorial Gardens in Portland.
Dorothy Jean Breeding
Dorothy Jean Breeding, 78, passed away Jan. 30, 2014. She was
born Sept. 19, 1935 in Oakwood, to Charlie Lee and Elnora Burnley
Allen. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and she
would attend the Loving Adult Day Care in Aransas Pass.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace
W. Breeding; daughter, Linda Ruth Owens; brothers, Robert Earl
Allen and Charles Ray Allen; sisters, Lela Marie Allen and Ruby
Nell Price. She is survived by her step-daughters, Lou and Brenda
Breeding; brothers, Marvin J. Allen of Ingleside and Willie James
Allen (Geneva) of Oakwood; sister, Dorris Louise Moning of
Dallas; grandchildren, DeBorah Henry and Michael L. Owens;
step-grandchildren, Todd and Alfred; and great-grandchild, Reagan
J.C. Winfield.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at
Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10
a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Burial will
be private.

Thomas Joseph Grabowski
Thomas Joseph Grabowski, 53, of
Ingleside, entered into eternal life on
Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 at Spohn Shoreline
Hospital in Corpus Christi. Tom was
born July 19, 1960 in Wilkes Barre,
Pa., the son of the late Stanley Michael
and Lois Anne (Flynn) Grabowski. He
attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School in
Nanticoke, Pa., and graduated from John
S. Fine High School in 1978. Tom was
an air frame and power plant mechanic.
He was employed as an aircraft mechanic
by Air Logistics, General Dynamics, Boeing, Elsinore Aerospace
and L3 Communications. Tom was active in Scouting, was a SPCA
volunteer, was an active member of Our Lady of Assumption
Catholic Church in Ingleside, and was active with the Ingleside
VFW. He was also active in the political community, was a member
of the planning and zoning commission, and was a member of the
library board at the Ingleside Public Library.
Tom was a loving son, brother, friend and uncle. He blessed
everyone around him with his sense of humor and was proud of his
Polish-Irish heritage.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents;
brother, James Anthony; brother-in-law, Larry Selecky; cousin,
Allison Grabowski; and uncle, Martin Powers. Tom will be
deeply missed by his sisters, Angela Selecky of Hanover Section,
Pa., Donna Grabowski of Sheatown, Pa., Joanne Grabowski of
Nanticoke, Pa., Catherine Abberton (Peter) of Keighley, West
Yorkshire, England, and Theresa Dillion of Nanticoke, Pa.; brothers,
Ted Grabowski (Beverly) of New Braunfels and John Grabowski
of Wanamie, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends
and colleagues. Visitation was held, Jan. 30 from 6-8 p.m. with
a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in
Aransas Pass. Mass was celebrated Friday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at Our
Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Ingleside. Burial followed
at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass.

Dorothy Jean Parker

I 23, 1926, in Kyle, to William E. and Tonie
I Doyle Wiegand. She passed away Feb. 1,
1 2014, in Seguin, at the age of 87.
Prior to graduation from Southwest
Texas State Teachers College in San
Marcos, with a teaching degree, she met
Stephen Parker, after his return from
duty in the South Pacific in World War
II. Upon their marriage on August 28,
1947, she and Stephen settled in Ingleside
and raised their family. Dorothy taught
science courses at Aransas Pass High School and Ingleside High
School before her retirement. In 2001, she and Stephen moved to
Seguin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William
Wiegand and Thomas Wiegand.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen; brothers, John
Wiegand and Rex Wiegand; sons, Randall (Robby), Stanley
(Priscilla) and Roger (Linda); daughters, Stephanie and Rebecca
(Phil) Thompson; granddaughters, Nicole, Alyssa, Christina and
Angela; and grandsons, Ryan (Marisa), Richard,
Joshua, Travis, Stephen, James and Daniel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. at First
Baptist Church in Seguin with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating.
The family will greet visitors in the church lobby at 9 a.m. prior to
the service. Graveside services and interment will follow at 1 p.m.
at the Live Oak Cemetery in Uhland. A reception will follow at
Immanuel Baptist Church in Kyle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial bequests may be made, in Dorothy’s
name, to the First Baptist Church, 1314 E. Cedar St., Seguin, TX
78155, or to the South Texas Childrens Home Ministries, P.O. Box
759, Beeville, TX 78104.

Mary Elizabeth Ripoll
Mary Elizabeth Ripoll, 46, passed away February 2, 2014. She
was born in, Aransas Pass on May 5, 1967 to Jackson “Buster” and
Elizabeth Brown. She was a life long resident of Ingleside.
She is survived by sons, Nelson Ripoll and Christopher Ripoll
(Tereza) of Ingleside; mother, Elizabeth Flores and step-father,
Raymundo Flores of Ingleside; brother, Henry Flores of Ft. Worth;
sisters, Jaki Brown and Thelma Brown Jimenez both of Ingleside;
grandchildren, Ryhder and Ryhlee Ripoll; and nieces, Lauren and
Elizabeth Brunner.
Viewing and visitation was held Friday, Feb. 7, from 6-9 p.m. at
Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass.

Loyd M. Turnipseede
Loyd M. Turnipseede, 88, passed
away Jan. 31, 2014. He was born Sept. 16,
1925 to Jasper David and Roberta Beard
Turnipseede in Falls County. He proudly
served in the Navy during World War
II and participated in the atomic bomb
testing. While living in Ingleside, he was
mayor pro-tem and police commissioner,
and he served on the Ingleside ISD
school board. He was a member of the
Ingleside Masonic Lodge, Shriner and
Scottish Rite and was very active in the
Little League Baseball. He retired from Reynolds Metals and was a
member of the First Baptist Church in Odem.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and
two sons. He is survived by his loving wife, Mable Turnipseede
of Portland; son, Bob Turnipseede (Vera) of Hutto; daughters,
Ann Blankenship (David) of Corpus Christi, and Cheryl Mercer
(Bill) of Crown Point, Ind.; sister, Artie DeHart of Kingwood; six
grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 3, from 5-7 p.m. at Charlie
Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. A funeral service will
begin at 10a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the First Baptist Church, located
at 307 W. Turner in Odem. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Nixon
Cemetery in Nixon.

Eva Lou Young, 71, passed away Jan.
26, 2014. She was born Aug. 9, 1942
in Maryville, Tenn. She has been a
resident of Aransas Pass since she was 10
years old. Eva served in many different
organizations over her lifetime. She
never met a stranger, or not for long.
She loved to talk and her favorite place
of choice was at Whataburger with all of
her friends. Eva also loved her children
unconditionally.
Eva was preceded in death by he
parents, Doyle and Kate Ward. She is survived by her sons, Eddie
Young and Randy Young, both of Aransas Pass; daughters, Cathy
Young Slayton of Flour Bluff and Susan Alexander of Woodlands;
brothers, Jack Ward (Ollie) of Ingleside and Gene Ward (Marilyn)
of George West; sister, Linda Dixon (Chuck) of Ingleside; eight
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family receiving
friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Charlie Marshall Funeral
Home. A funeral service was conducted by Ian Caceres at 10 a.m.
Friday, Jan. 31, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Interment
followed at Prairie View Cemetery.

free tax assistance and preparation locally for
those with low to moderate income. Locations are
available in both Rockport and Corpus Christi.
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, in its 45th
year, is the nation's largest free tax assistance
and preparation service, and provides free tax
assistance to Texans of any age. The organization
gives special attention those 60 and older. The
service is available to anyone, and someone does
not have to be a member of AARP or a retiree to
use this free service.
The Tax-Aide program is available 8:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Wednesdays at the Rockport Center, located
