teacher of journalism in Iraan High
School. Iraan is the model oil town
of the world-famous Yates Oil Pool
in Pecos County, and the school
there is one of the leading experi-
mental schools in the State? having
been designated several years ago
as a state "laboratory school."
Mrs. Beal is sponsor of The
Broadcaster, high school newspaper,
which ranks at the top In state and
national high scho ) press organiza-
tions. She is using members of her
journalism class to put on the]
WOAI broadcast today. Following |
the radio program sjye is taking her |
students to Austin to compete in]
the journalism contests of the State j
Intersc-hclastie League meet this i
weekend.
The main character in Mrs. Beal's
radio sketch is Grief Murray, on|
whose ranch near Iraan she is a |
frequent visitor. The above picture;
was made at the Murray ranch. In'
the drama Grief Murray loses his
chances to find an enormous buried
treasure because he doesn’t believe
the story of a strange Mexican;
when he does find out the truth of
the story, it is too late, for the Mex-
ican is dying. *

director of curriculum for the State
Department of Education, where she
will assist in the preparation and

In June to go to Chihuahua, Mexi-
co, as official photographer for Dr.
H. W. Mprelock. president of Sul
Ross College' at- Alpine, and Ills
summer student group who make
this trip every year.
She jilans to return to Coleman
May 28 for a week’s vis' with her
parents. Mr. and Mrs. B F. Hamil-
ton, and her son, Jimmy, before go-
ing on to her job at Austin.
