While we ‘are bn the item of home
town loyalty, it would l*‘ a good idea
for all of us to take stock and see now
much?we are supporting home town tn-
.(lustry. We are . all here making a
living in Hallettsville. The farmers
are dcix-ndent on the merchant anti
the merchant is dependent on the
ftymer.' The two should work to-
gether in order to arrive at an ideal
situation. Hie merchant has a lot-of
money tied up In wares for your needs
and enjoyment. He must, make - a
profit in order to‘make expenses, pay
his clerks and make a living for'him-
self. He accommodates you,, gives you
time, helps you, contributes to the wel-
fare of the community and then turns
around and spends that money with
yon. Patronize your home town mer-
(iiant if you can; buy' from him what
you can. It will be appreciated, not
forgotten, and remember he may be
able to do your a favor soup; day,-

For the news gntherer this has been
one of the dullest weeks we have ex-

this ijs one case where "no news is
good news.” If that is the.catje, the
Herald has a lot of good news in its
columns this week.
