Letter to the Editor
Wal Mart employee should be commended
(This letter was addressed to the
manager of Wal Mart.)
I just had to stop and tell you
about one of your outstanding em-
ployees.
I came to Wal Mart for my regu-
lar oil/lube for my car and while I was
there I asked one of the mechanics to
please test my car batteries as my
generator light had been showing a
problem. The test showed that both
my batteries were bad. When I men-
tioned that I would not have time to
have two new batteries installed, your
employee, Patrick, kindly offered to
drive me to work while the mechanic
worked on my car. Not only did he
drive me to work, he also offered to
come back to pick me up after work
if I could not find a ride back to Wal
Mart!
I did find a way back and found
the mechanic had to leave for parts
for another car. Patrick personally
started working on my car so I would
not be late getting home!
I believe Patrick is a very courtc-

ous and kind hearted person who
goes that extra step to ensure cus-
tomer satisfaction. I'm positive Wal
Mart (and his mother) would be very
proud of Patrick!
I've always enjoyed shopping at
Wal Mart and 1 know Patrick will be
one more reason why I’ll keep com-
ing back!

Ron Davis has been our pastor
for the past 11 years, ministering
quietly and faithfully to the needs of
other people, without regard for the
costs of that service. Now our pastor
is in need, and his family, friends, and
church are asking for vour help.
Over the past several years, Ron
has developed heart related health
problems. Following an angiogram
on Aug. 25,1992, doctors determined
that the only medical hope for Ron’s
ailment is a heart transplant. They
said that only 10 percent of his heart
muscle is working, and that the re^t of
his heart muscle is dead. The avef age
cost of a heart transplant, according
to Baylor Hospital where the proce-
dure is performed, is $ 150,000. Ron ’ s
health insurance excludes all costs
related to transplants.
Ron’s church and family count
each day as a blessing, since every
day without this transplant is a ter-
rible risk to Ron. The chances of a
successful transplant are great. At the
age of 58, a transplant is expected to
cure Ron, and to enable him to con-
tinue his service here on earth for
years to come.
In order to raise the money
which is necessary for this operation
and other approved medical needs,
Trinity Church has established a
general medical fund to assist with
the expenses of medical care.

Thanks for
support for
fundraiser
Qn behalf of the Mound PTQ.iti
would like to thank die Mound su*.
dents, parents, and community for all -
the generous support during our fund-
raiser. We are very proud of our stu-
dents for the terrific job they did by
having the most successful fund-
raiser Mound has had. It could not
have been done withoutthe hard work
and dedication of our students and
parents.
Community support was won-
derful and very appreciated in to-
day'seconomy. It is so heartwarming
to see this kind of support and pride
behind our school. The money will
be put to many uses towards the im-
provement of our school and our
children's education. Again, a very
heartfelt thank you from the Mound
PTO.

a letter in by the deadline does hot ensure that it will be in the next
issue. All letters must bear the handwritten signature of the writer ;
and include the address and phone n umber (daytime phone num-
ber please) for verification purposes (address and phone number
will not be printed).
Names are printed with each letter. Names are withheld only

deductible.
Ron Davis has devoted his life
to the work of the Lord. Now he needs
help, vour HELP.
Please prayerfully consider this
serious need and contribute all that
you can, as soon as you can. Ron
needs this transplant immediately.
Thank you for your consideration.
Please keep Ron in your prayers.

Please correct
problems with
CR 600 soon
I must join the bandwagon of
those of us who reside east of 1-35 off
of CR 600 (East Renfro).
We live in such a beautiful part
of Johnson County and for that mat-
ter, all of North Texas. However, I,
like many of my neighbors, have to
face the daily drudgery and unpleas-
antry of traveling on good old East
Renfro.
I have had the opportunity of
discussing this matter with the Pet. 3
Commissioner who explained all of
the facts, legal and political, in a very
professional fashion. With regards
to the commissioner's explanation,
are we possibly beyond the point
where we can bypass the time projec-
tion (approximately two years) for
this road to be repaired?
I personally feel that we have an
emergency need concerning police
and fire response and school bus
safety along with the rapid deteriora-
tion of personal vehicles. I and thou-
sands of taxpayers who ride the road
each day hope this problem can be
corrected really soon.

Letter to the Editor
Varsity football players
are setting fine example
for seventh grade players
Football season is over for the
Elks and they have accomplished
what they set out to do, play at Texas
Stadium, a goal that took hard work
and determination. Even though they
were defeated by the Lewisville Farm-
ers, these young men are still our
champions.
I have been a devoted fan since
they started out as a young and inex-
perienced team of seventh graders. I
have watched them develop these
past six years, not just as a team, but
as fine young men with high stan-
dards and goals. 1 have been fortu-
nate to be part of their lives by being
involved with different school activi-
ties. I have followed their progress
from honor roll lists, Who's Who,
DARE program participants, Fellow-
ship of Christian Athletes, and the list
goes on. I have six years of newspa-
per clippings that show these young
men's accomplishments and defeats.
Many of them are seniors this year
and this part of their life will come to
an end in a few more months when
they graduate in May.
Atcrlast community pep rally,
I watched a group of seventh graders
looking at our athletes with awe and
admiration and I thought to myself,
"This is not the end, but it is just the
beginning for what these young men
have accomplished this year has
paved the road for the next group to
follow next year and for the years to
come. They've made us all believe.
They've brought honor and pride to
our school district and community;
they've showed us that working to-
gether as a team, anything can be ac-
complished."
They've set a fine example for
those young seventh graders to fol-
low. What an accomplishment! I love
every single one of them. I know they
are my champions!
