December Meeting
Is Postponed

Members of the Bartlett
Chamber of Commerce should
watch their mail for announce-
ment of the date of the regular
meeting which was postponed
last Tuesday James Bailey
president of the organization"
announced today. The meeting
was postponed because so many "
members were out of town for
Christmas.
The regular January meeting
to be held on the fourth Tues-
day in the month will be the
annual meeting date of the or-
ganization at which time offi-
cers and directors for 1940 will
be elected. Officers elected at
this time will take office in February.

meeting Wednesday afternoon
which was followed by a Christ-
mas tea at the home of Mrs. Gus
W. Sager.

president and Mrs. Carl Klotz

Scouts Play Santa
Claus Christmas
(Members of the local Boy
Scout Troop played Santa Claus
to seventeen Bartlett families
Christmas Eve and again Christ-
mas morning- when they distrib
uted seventy-live reconditioned
toys. Randle Cagle and J. L
Thomas made the home visits.
Scouts were busy for two
weeks before Christmas gather-
ing up toys and repairing and
repainting them. Many of the
toys were new or in such condi-
tion that no work was necessary
Scoutmaster M. Evans reports.
Wednesday Thursday and
Friday of this week local scouts
joined others of the Heart of
Texas Area in a holiday camp
at Camp Tahauva near Belton.
The boys carrieid their own food
and bedding and cabins tents
and cpts were furnished by the
area council.

high school auditorium. Every

The bride was dressed in a
bright blue alpaca dress with
silver clips and sash. She wore
a pearl necklace and carried a
bouquet of white gladiolas and
fern. The bridesmaid wore a
grapewine dress with a gold clip
and necklace.
A reception was held at the
home of the bride's parents that
night after which a midnight
supper was served to 80 guests.
Many beautiful gifts were re-
ceived. Mrs. Friedrich is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Cartsen
and Mr. Friedrich is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Friedrich.
The couple will live on a farm
on Belton route 2.

To Leave Bartlett .
Bartlet received with regret
this week the announcement j
that H. A. Dalton local mana-
ger of the Wm. Cameron and
Co. for the past three and one-
.half years is leaving for Sonora
where he has accepted a simi-
lar position with the company.
He will leave this week-end and.
Mrs. Dalton and children wilL
follow within the next week.
Mr. and Mrs. Dalton and child-
ren Peggy and Jimmy came to
Bartlett from Blooming Grove
and have made many friends
here. They have been active in
the civic and social life of the
community as well as in the
work of the Methodist church.
Mr. Dalton was a member of
the Board of Stewards of tha
Methodist church; he has serv-
ed as president of the Chamber
of Commerce and as a member
of its board of directors; he is
a member of the Business Men's
Luncheon Club and was elected
as president of the organization y
in November of this year.
Ten years ago Mr. Daltogi
started work with Wm. Camer-
on & Co. in his home town Og-
lesby and has served the com-
pany in Bynum Granger and
Blooming Grove.
