EMT
Saturday, the parking
lot of the Food Mart
in Timpson was a busy
place, as the EMT's of
the Timpson Volunteer
Ambulance Service had
their fish'fry to raise
money to buy a new am-
bulance. The 8 year old
vehicle will be re-
placed with a ’985 Ford
F350 Wheeled Coach
Type I Walk lhru Modu-
lar Unit, allowing us
to up-grade the service
we offer our patrons in
Ti«k>son and surrounding
communities.
The support of the won-
derful people in the
area, and even visitors
here for the holidays
made the proceeds from
the fish fry to far ex-
ceed our expectations.
Over $6,000 was raised
by the sale of fish
plates, bake sale and
donations. However this
is not all profit since
the1 cosir-of- the" fish
fry bills have not all
been paid.
For lack of space we
cannot list all the
numerous donations giv-
en to us, but we want
to say "Thank You."
To all the ladies who
baked cakes and pies
for the bake sale, to
them we give a special
thanks. Over $400 was
made from this.
Fish Fry
The EMT's are so great-
ful to Mrs. Leo Green
that crocheted a beau-
tiful queen sized afh-
gan for us to raffle
off at $1 a chance. We
made around $600. This
was not included In the
above amount. Barbara
Hughes Rt 1, Timpson
was the winner of the
afbgar. Congratulations
Barbara, we know you
will enjoy it. Mrs.
Green's work is just
beautiful.
We appreciate all the
people that coped with
the hot sun and wind
while standing in long
lines waiting their
turns to Pe served, or
fish fry would not be
the success that it
was.
we want to also say
thank you and how much
we appreciate all the
merchants listed below
for donations- of var-
ious things.
Food Mart-fish and use
of parking lot; Quick
Stop--peanut oil and
ect.; Mrs. Bairds;
Bakeries-bread; Taylor
Funeral Home-tent;
Timpson Drive Inn; and
Johns Coffee Shop.
To each and everyone
thank you, though words
cannot say how much we
appreciate your support
