It is reported now and then
that Villa has come to life and is
gathering his forces for an en-
gagement somewhere. If this
be true the banditj chief has a
sizzling hot time just ahead of
him, which he will have little
difficulty in overtaking.
In the mighty conflict across
the waters, men are being butch-
ered at an alarming rate But
war is just what Sherman said it
was and there is little piospect
of the conflict ceasing so long
as soldiers and imunition hold
out.

The Chillicothe Weekly News
says a second term indorsement
may be good Democratic usage,
but that it is a precedent in
which their is more sentiment
than sense. It certainly cannot
be invoked in the present guber-
natorial race. Prohibitionists
now have a splendid opportunity
to elect the next governor of
Texas. By presenting a solid
front they can do it.
The railroads have proposed the settle-
ment of this controversy either under the
existing national arbitration law, or by refer-
ence to the Interstate Commerce Commis-
sion. This offer has been refused by the
employes’ representatives.
Shall a nation-wide strike or an
investigation under the Gov-
ernment determine this issue?
