Mary McLelland
Mary “Muna” Olin McLelland of Ennis died Feb-
ruary 16, 2014 at the age of 94.
Mary was born in Hubbard, Texas to Mary E.
and Homer H. Hammer. She lived most of her life in
Ennis. Mary graduated from Goresbeck High
School in 1937. She married Allen McLelland and
both moved to Ennis in 1939. Mary worked for the
Ennis Business Forms for twenty years retiring in
1980.
Preceding her in death was her husband Allen
and son Michael Olin.
She leaves behind two sons Joe Allen “Butch”
McLelland and wife, Jan, and their son, Todd, and
daughter, Christi, and her daughters, Alex and Tay-
lor all of Ennis, Bill McLelland of Waco and his
sons, Hal Hart and his wife, Tina and their sons,
Tyler and Hayden of Burkburnett, Chris Allen
McLelland and his wife, Kim and and their daugh-
ters, Raygan and Camryn of Aledo, two nieces,
Mary Edna Johnson and Patty Franklin both of
Groesbeck, three nephews Jimmy Hammer of Dal-
las, Lynn Hammer of Austin and Jack Franklin of
Angleton.
Mary was a faithful and long time member of the
First United Methodist Church in Ennis. Mary’s
compassion for travel was unending. It was hard to
mention a place of travel that she had not visited
and sometimes twice. She possessed one of those
springhtly minds and warm sensitive hearts that
gained for her the admiration of all who knew her.
She was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother, and true friend, and now
she has left our midst for a far better place. Let us
rejoice!
A private memorial service will be held in Ennis
at Myrtle Cemetery at a later date with Rev. Rose-
mary Redmond, pastor of the First Christian
Church of Ennis will officiate.
Anyone wishing to do so is invited to make a me-
morial in Mary’s memory to the First United
Methodist Church of Ennis or the charity of their
choice.
Andrew Bascom Beckham Jr.
Mr. Andrew Bascom Beckham, Jr., 84, of Ennis,
Texas died on February 16, 2014 at home. Funeral
services will be 10:30 AM, February 20, 2014, at the
gravesite in Waco, Texas at Waco Memorial Park.
Burial will follow. A lunch will be served after at the
Day Spring Baptist Church, 7900 Renewal Way,
Waco, Texas 76712 following the services.
He was born November 12, 1929,
in Port Arthur, Texas. He lived in
Jefferson County, Texas until he
graduated in 1951 from The Texas
School for the Deaf in Austin, Texas.
While at TSD, he was a member of
the Deaf High School Nation Cham-
pionship football team of 1947. He
also played baseball and basketball.
He married Martha Lane Rhodes of
Waco, Texas on November 24,1951 and they enjoyed
59 years of a wonderful marriage. They travelled
together all over the US and took a cruise to Mexico
and the West Indies.
Andrew joined the Typographical Union, AFL-
CIO, Printing Publishing and Communication
Workers of America and began his working career
at the Waco Tribune-Herald. He then moved to
Houston and worked at the Houston Post. Andrew
finished his career at Government Printing Office
at Washington D.C. and worked for many years
until he retired, moved back to Texas in 1993 and
remained an active member of the union.
He was a member of the Columbus Avenue Bap-
tist Church in Waco, National Association of the
Deaf, Texas Association of the Deaf, National Fra-
ternal Society of the Deaf, Dallas Community for
the Deaf/Dallas Association of the Deaf, Inc. He en-
joyed many evenings playing Cingo Poker and
being with his friends at the Dallas Association of
the Deaf, Inc., club facility in Dallas, Texas. In ad-
dition to fun times, he served in a leadership ca-
pacity in several deaf organizations.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. His early
life was filled with fishing and hunting with father,
Andrew Beckham, Sr. Senior was a true outdoors-
man a characteristic which Andrew’s children and
grandchildren enjoy to this day.
He was preceded in death by his much loved and
faithful wife, Martha Lane Rhodes. He is survived
by his three sons, Michael Beckham, Rick Beckham
and wife, Alison, Austin Beckham and wife Karen,
all of Ennis, Texas. He had six grandchildren Nigel
Beckham, Justin Beckham and wife Robyn,
Thomas Beckham, Stanton Beckham, Callie Beck-
ham Sikkema and her husband Wes and Mary
Beckham. Flowers may be sent J.E.Keever Mortu-
ary of Ennis, Texas or donations made be made in
lieu of flowers to the Texas School for the Deaf.

Mae Glenda Oliver Lynn
Mae Glenda Oliver Lynn, 74, died Sunday, Feb-
ruary 16, 2014, at Scott and White Hospital in
Temple, Texas.
Born December 2,1939, in Waxahachie, Texas,
Glenda was the daughter of Clovis Wales Oliver,
Sr. and Viola Hartsfield Oliver of Reagor Springs.
She was reared at Ensign and was a cheerleader
at Ennis High School. She moved to Fort Worth
in 1957 where she met and married Homer Dean
Boswell. His career with the US
Air Force allowed them opportuni-
ties to live in several different
states and Japan. She returned to
Ennis in 1982 and was employed by
Transportation Tax Specialists. In
2006, she married Coy Lynn of
Centerville. Together they built a
home in Eustace where they have lived for sev-
eral years. Glenda gave her time weekly as a vol-
unteer at ETMC Athens where she cared for new
mothers and infants. She loved music and was a
talented singer and pianist, sharing her talents
with high school friends in the singing group
"Sweet Harmony". They performed at social
events across the metroplex. A lifelong member
of the Church of Christ, at the time of her death
she was a member of the congregation of East-
ern Hills in Athens. She greatly appreciated the
cards, which she read daily, and the prayers she
received from friends and her church family.
She is survived by her husband, Coy Lynn; one
son, Jeff Boswell of Austin and his two children;
four daughters: Susan and Mel Kelder of Belton
and their four children and four grandchildren;
Stacie and David Beggs of Ennis and their three
children and two grandchildren; Glenis and Tim
Armstrong of Ennis and their three children;
Amanda and Tommy Davis of Buffalo and their
two children; and "adopted" Connie Easterling of
Buffalo. She is also survived by three step-daugh-
ters: Lisa Lynn of Magnolia; Trisa Finney of
Tomball; and Ladonna Cook of Tomball; six step-
grandchildren and two step-great grand children,
several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in
death by her parents and two brothers, Clovis
Wales Oliver, Jr. and Bobby Ross Oliver.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that me-
morials be made to the Eastern Hills Church of
Christ Women's Ministry for New Mothers and
Infants at 1200 E. Corsicana Street, Athens,
Texas, 75751 for the benefit of maternity and
neonatal care.
Visitation was held Monday, February 17, 2014,
from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary
of Ennis. A celebration of her life will took place on
Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 2 p.m. In the J.E.
Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment fol-
lowed in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E.
Keever Mortuary, Inc.

Shirley Childe Sills
Shirley Childers Sills, 79, passed away on Feb-
ruary 13, 2014.
Shirley was born on November 14,1934 to J.W.
and Dorothy Childers in Bristol, Texas. She grew
up in Bristol and graduated from Ferris High
School. ON August 18, 1956 she married Jack B.
Sills of Bardwell, Texas. She worked for the City
of Ferris and The City of Ovilla. After retiring
she enjoyed her Wednesday meeting with the
ladies at the church, cooking, dancing and hav-
ing fun with all her friends.
Shirley is survived by two sons: Todd Sills and
wife, Kristin, Scott Sills and wife, Delia; one
granddaughter: Ryann Sills; three grandsons:
Jonathan, Clifton and Brandon
Sills; two sisters: Dixie and hus-
band, Jack Odiorne, Janis Cole-
man; one brother, James Childers
and wife, Kaye; brother-in-law,
Bobby Guthrie along with nieces,
nephews, other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her
parents, her husband, Jackie in 1974, sister, Eliz-
abeth Guthrie and brother-in-law, Walter H. Cole-
man, Jr.
Visitation was held one hour prior to service.
A celebration of her life took place on Monday,
February 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever
Mortuary Chapel of Ennis, Texas with the Rev.
Eddie Miner officiating. Interment followed at
Bristol Cemetery in Bristol, Texas. Pallbearers
were Jonathan Sills, Clifton Sills, David Odiorne,
Donald Rupley, Harold Witherspoon and Keith
Tooley.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memo-
rial be made to the Bristol Cemetery Association
or Faith Presbyterian Hospice, 500 East Ann
Arbor, Dallas, Texas 75216.
