Deaths
Crash sends 1 to hospital, 2 to jail
Police officers closed parts of North Kaufman
Street on Friday night after a two-car collision
sent one woman to the hospital and two men to
jail.
EPD Officer Jason McCurdy said the driver of
the pickup truck pulled in front of the Tahoe as
he tried to leave a nearby apartment complex in
the 2000 block of North Kaufman Street.
After ETMC medics transported the Tahoe's
female occupant to Baylor Hospital in Dallas,
police arrested the truck's driver after he un-
derwent a field sobriety test. Police also ar-
rested the passenger for public intoxication.
Irl McCaffety, Jr.
Mr. Irl McCaffety, Jr. passed away at his home, Fri-
day, July 27,2012.
Irl was born November 26,1927 in Danbury, Texas to
Irl Chilton and Madie Agnes (Barrett) McCaffety He
went to school in Midway, Texas. On July 9,1977 he was
married to Pearl Walton. They moved to the Ennis area
at that time.
A cabinet maker by trade, Irl was the owner of Mc-
Caffety Woodworks from 1973 to 2010. He was a mem-
ber of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Ennis and
enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was very handy and
loved working with his hands to create useful and beau-
tiful things from wood.
Irl is survived by his wife, Pearl; four sons: Michael
McCaffety and his wife Charlote of Fairfield, Texas,
Gary McCaffety of Ennis, Texas, Mitch and Deborah
Williams of Konawa, Oklahoma and Clyde and Laurie

jcek descendants and

tend the Rejcek Reunion
on Saturday, Aug. 4 at St.
Martin’s Hall in Tours.
Registration begins at 2
p.m. followed by bingo
and games.
A covered dish meal
will be served at 5 p.m.
and each family is re-
quested to bring a pre-
pared (cooked) meat
entree, side dish, salad or
dessert. We want to have
plenty of food for every-
one. Tableware, coffee
and tea will be provided.
Donations for both the
live and silent auctions
are welcome. The bingo
and door prizes will be
purchased from reunion
funds. A live band will
provide dance music
from 7:30 to 11 p.m.
Please notify all your
family members and ask
them to come and renew
old friendships and forge
new ones and learn about
their family heritage. We
ask you to please bring
your old and new photo-
graphs, scrapbooks, and
albums of your branch
of the family tree; along
with any documents you
may have pertaining to
the Rejcek history.
Bring updates on any
new births, marriages,
and deaths for the family
tree.

Club will gather with
friends and train lovers
for a time of food, fun
and fellowship on Tues-
day, Aug. 7. The whistle

Williams of Ennis, Texas; two daughters: Denise and
her husband Larry Dean of Grand Prairie, Texas and
Glenda Cunningham of Corsicana, Texas; one brother,
Eugene McCaffety of Huntsville, Texas; twenty grand-
children; thirty-five great grandchildren and several
great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters
and one brother.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012
at 2:00 p.m. in the J. E. Keever Mortuary Chapel, 408 N.
Dallas Street, Ennis, Texas, with Pastor Darrell Nelson
and Bro. Kenneth Hill officiating.
