old home, Mosheim.
Caraway Brothers of Clifton were
business visitors to Valley Mills last
Monday afternoon trying to secure a
building in which to open a moving
picture show. These young men have
been in the show business in Clifton
for the past three years and are giv-
ing the people of that place one of
the best and cleanest shows in Central
Texas, and should they come here our
people may rest assured that every-
thing will be up to the minute in
every respect and that their place will
be worth attending. They are very
anxious to secure a location here. The
young Caraway has just returned
from a ten months’ stay in France and
says he is glad to get back. We were
glad to see him. as we have known
him since he was a small boy.
Will McNemar, who was recently-
operated on at the sanitarium for ap-
pendicitis, was able to resume bis
work Monday. He says he feels as
young as he "used to be."
H. J. Gibbs and the Tribune man
were transacting business in Merid-
ian on Friday afternoon of last week.
Mr and Mrs. Will Smith of the Pat-
ton community were shopping in the
city last Saturday.
Mrs. Roy Sherrill and little son of
Temple were here several days last
week visiting at the home of her mo-
ther, Mrs. Kate McNeill.
Miss Margaret Croom of Moody
has been teaching in the school here
for several days on account of the ill-
ness of her sister, Mrs. Hatter, who
was detained.
Charlie Simmons has been in Cle-
burne for the past several days on
business for a paper he is working
for. Charlie knows how to secure sub-
scriptions and is making things hum.
W. R. Grice of McGregor, a for-
mer citizen of the Lanes Chappel com-
munity, was here last Saturday after-
noon. Mr. and Mrs. Grice are stay-
ing with their son in McGregor ow-
ing to the ill health of his wife.
.Mrs. JetT Gray was in town last
] Saturday while en route to her home
was reared and who formerly taught who went to that country some time Iat Hamilton. She had been visiting

flowing of promise tof plenty.
Spring manifests its presence by the song notes c: birds,
and the music of rippling brocks. How wonderful and in-
spiring is this period. The pity of it is its transitory hap-
piness, its melodics that are all too short lived.
Mendelssohn's Spring Song revives in our mind the
beauties of spring. And does this throughout the year irre-
spective of seasons. In like manner countless other songs will

to be out again, as he has been in bad
health for so long a time. He gets
around well for his advanced age and
considering his failing health.
Sidney Webb of Belh-ue, Texas, was
here Friday of last week looking after
business connected with the oil mill of
this place. Mr. Webb formerly own-
led the Smith farm on the Brazos. He
seems very optimistic over the pros-
pects this yfeir and says he looks for
a splendid year's business here with
the mill.
Pierce and Ollie Richards were in
town last Saturday, accompanied by
their wives, who were shopping with
our merchants. -
Commissioner Goodall was trans-
acting business in Clifton last Satur-

We learn that our former townsman South Texas city,
