Claude Callan remarks that
‘‘the speed dunce should drive a
cheap car; there is no need of
him smashing a good machine
when he breaks lps neck.” It
doesn’t make any difference to
us whether he uses a five thou

High School Wins Second Game
The Basket Ball teams of the
two local schools met on the col-
lege court last Friday evening in
the second game of the local
championship series. It was the
most closely contested game of
the season and resulted in a
final score of 10 to 18 in favor of
the High school. At the end of
the lirst half the score stood H to
8 and it was only by fast and
careful playing that tie was
broken in the final half. This
was the first game won by the
High School. The games now

stand one and one for each team.
In team work and passing the
ball the College boys showed
superior skill, but the High
School boys did effective work in
guarding the passes and goaling
the balls.
The clean spirit of both teams
thus far is to be highly commen-
ded. There have, as yet, been
no fouls or penalties because of
“dirty work” or unfair advan-
tage, and the spirit after the
games is truly sportsmanlike.
The games are full of interest
for those who enjoy true com-
petitive snort, and it is urged
that the people of the town at-
tend and support the teams.
The third game will be played on
the High School court Thursday
evening at 4:30.
