Seniors plan Valentine contest
Hey! Hey! Hey! What Good
Days! We can’t help our en-
thusiasm. Irregardless of all the
illness among us, everyone is still
feeling euphoric regards the
Senior Citizens activities at the
center. This month members are
involved in 30 minute vignettes,
presented before the lunch hour.
These vignettes are of a spiritual
nature or on a humorous line,
whatever the individual feels he or
site can best present. Every pro-
gram has been very well received.
May we extend an invitation to
anyone interested in presenting a
program to our seniors to just give
us a call at 445-2006. The pro-
gram could be spiritual, humorous,
musical or educational. We are
never too old to leant or be enter-
tained. Father Baker is with us
Senior Citizens News
every second Tuesday of the
month and he is such a delightful
and inspirational person.
Our day to day attendance is
still very good. We are averaging
thirty-five to forty people per day.
Why don’t you come and bring a
friend to enjoy fun and games and
delicious food. Our quilters are
staying busy, the art classes arc
progressing beautifully and our
dominoe players are sharpening
their skills. A blood pressure
check is made the first Thursday
and the third Monday of the month
with Dublin Nursing Center assist-
ing. Hearing aid representatives
are present on the first Monday
and fourth Friday of each month.
Birthdays are celebrated the last
Monday of the month with a cake
furnished by McDonalds. If any-
one is interested in starting a new
activity for our people come by
202 E. Clinton or call the nubmer
mentioned above. We are most
receptive to new ideas. Plans are
formulating for a Valentine’s King
and Queen contest. Watch for
details later.
Our bi-monthly Bingo, Satur-
day, Jan. 20, was attended by ap-
proximately 30 people and a good
time was had by all. There was an
abundance of food furnished by
members.
There have been numerous calls
regarding Commodities Distribu-
tion. Dublin has been scheduled
for Jan. 29 at the Senior Center.
You should, however, check the
newspaper for any change that
might occur.
As promised last week the fol-
lowing is a continuation of indi-
viduals and business establish-
ments who made cash donations
and contributions to D.S.C.I. and
we wish to acknowledge same
publicly: Save-On Food, C.R.

planned and we did the donuts, sit-
tercise and exercise in the west
hall. We had a good finish that day
with the “Happy A.A.R.P.S Band”
playing for us.
Wednesday, there was sickness
and several out of town so the
Church of Christ Bible Study had
to cancel and we missed that. We
spent the morning doing sittercise,
playing ball with our feet and
dominoes. In the afternoon, we
also missed Father Baker because
one of the members of his con-
gregation was ill. The we ended
up playing more dominoes and lis-
tening to a tape of “The Texans”.
Thursday morning we had sit-
tercise, men’s only and exercise in
the west lobby. During the after-
noon we had a^good discussion
with Ben Disney leading it. We
were discussing some of the
Corinthians.
Friday, we had our sittercise
and bingo which brought out quite
a few in the morning. In the after-
noon we finished off with Sing-a-
long and popcorn. We never seem
to tire of popcorn, the ones who
are able to eat it.
Our staff member of the week is

us almost four years now. She fin-

received her nurses training at the

husband and two sons reside in
