Sunday afternoon after five law enforcement officers raided g cock fighting establish-
ment. The man in the center is, Harvey Jimmerson of Baytown who was arrested
along with 87 ethers as a result of the raid. Jimmerson was charged with operating
a cock fight. Sheriff Woodruff said approximately 180 people were present at the cock
fight scene, an old barn which had an arena inside. Among the crowd were women
and children. Charges “concerned ^jvith matching roosters ’ .were filed on 87 men in
Justice of the Peace Arnett Lilley’s court. Fines on the 87 were set at $29.50 each.
All but three paid up and left. Woodruff, said a 20-acre tract was surrounded with
a fbur-straiid electric fence and a telephone was at the entrance. He also said other
charges..,uld probably be filed on Jimmerson. Woodruff said all of those arrc.stcd
