All hands attended the Texas State
Convention at Stephenville and we
think it was one of the best. Charlie
Skiles, President, and the other of-
ficers did a wonderful job of running
the convention, and the town of
Stephenville went all out for it. We
enjoyed it very
much. Let's all
work to make it
bigger and better
Mrs. Stamps and
this writer attend-
ed the Nacogdoch-
es County Conven-
tion at Cushing,
Texas. We spent a
very p 1 e s a a n t
weekend in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Tom Pate. They were in charge of the
convention and, as usual, it was one
of the very best. We enjoyed the trip
and hope to do it again before long.
Tom and Pauline are both teachers
in the Stamps Quartet School that
begins here in Dallas on June 11th.
There are no better teachers than
About all we can think and talk
about around the office is the
STAMPS QUARTET SCHOOL. It
looks like we will have the largest
school we've had in several years.
There seems to be more interest in
gospel singing now and we thank the
Lord for that. We know that singing
the Gospel is the Lord's work. If you
feel that you should do something for
the Lord, why not sing praises to
Him. Not everyone can preach or
teach, but every one can sing. If you
do not like gospel singing, you will
be out of place in Heaven. Sometime
ago a man told me he could not sing.
I asked him if he ever tried. I be-
lieve everyone, of average mind and
who is not deaf and dumb, can learn
to sing. You can learn to read music
in three weeks. Of course, you can't
learn all about music in three weeks,
or three years for that matter. Mu-
sic is inexhaustible and all of it will
never be understood by one person.
No one person will ever understand
all of the Bible.
The Stamps Quartet School is the
place to learn to read music, write it,
sing it, or play it on your favorite
instrument. Remember the date—June
11th through June 30th. The place is
the ABUNDANT LIFE TEMPLE,
East 10th and Crawford Streets in
Friendly Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas.
Three weeks—with both day and
Why not help some boy or girl,
man or woman attend the Stamps
Quartet School. If your church needs
a choir director or pianist, why not
select one from your own congrega-
tion and have the church or commun-
ity send them? If you can't find one,
send us a check for any amount and
we will give it to some deserving
person and help them to attend.
The TWENTY-FIFTH ALL NIGHT
SINGING AND BROADCAST will be
Saturday night, June 30th in the
Memorial Auditorium in Dallas. The
auditorium is on South Akard Street.
This is an annual reunion of gospel
singers and gospel song lovers from
all sections of the USA. They are
coming from California, from Florida
and the Carolinas, and all the states
in between. This is one that you can't
afford to miss! More than 40 quartets
will be on the program, including the
Nation's finest — The Blackwood
Brothers Quartet, Hovie Lister and
the Statesmen, and the Speer Family.
Of course the Stamps Quartet, the
Wills Family and others will be here.
If you miss this one, you will be
sorry the rest of your life. Tickets
are on sale now. Reserved seats $2.00,
general admission $1.50. You can

Report From the
Singing Bell Family
The Singing Bell Family is pleased
to be representing the Stamps Quar-
tet Music Company. We hope all our
friends will help us to do Mr. Stamps
a good job. When we come to your
convention to help you, we will have
a good supply of Stamps Quartet
books for your use. We hope that you
will, in turn, place your orders with
us for all your singing supplies.
We haave been to a lot of good
singings and have been well received.
On April 21st and 22nd we were in
Brady, Texas at the Heart rO Texas
Reunion. Mrs. Stewart was our very
gracious hostess. Thanks for a won-
derful time, Mrs, Stewart. We had a
day off the fifth Sunday and got some
much needed rest. On May 5th and 6th
we attended the Arkansas State
Quartet Convention in Camden, Ar-
kansas. Mr. James Branyan was in
charge. There was enough talent pres-
ent to take care of several conven-
tions. We hope to return to this one in
To all the convention presidents, I
would like to take this space to say
thanks from the Bell Family for all
the help and encouragement you have
given us in the past, and we will try
to make as many conventions as poss-
ible this year. We know that our sur-
vival depends on our singing friends
and as we carry the Gospel in song
we covet your prayers. Thank God
for Gospel Music and the good people
who sing gospel songs.
Five Sundays in April gave us an
opportunity to attend more county
conventions than we shall have space
to tell about in de-
tail. However, I
can tell you that
we attended one
every weekend and
they were all out-
standing. I wish
time and space
would permit tell-
ing about all the
we've met recently
but, of course, that
I have been telling the people of
Alabama about the great Stamps
School of Music in Dallas, which be-
gins June 11th. We have been en-
couraging them, especially the young
people, to attend and I think we will
have a sizable representation from
Here is a run-down on the places
and dates of the schools I have lined
up for the summer: Rainsville, Ala-
bama beginning May 21st; Stamps
School in Dallas beginning June 11th;
Hickory Flat School near Roswell,
Georgia beginning July 2nd; Church
of Christ on Lakeshore. Blvd., Jack-
sonville, Florida beginning July 23rd;
Handley Avenue Baptist Church in
Roanoke, Alabama beginning August
13th. If you live in any of these areas,
we would be happy to have you at-
tend. My co-worker, Mrs. Eloise Phil-
lips, who teaches voice and piano is,
I think, one of the finest teachers in
the South. When we are in your area,
by all means arrange to study with
this outstanding teacher.
