steam locomotive is a tiling of
the past, I think it would lx- ap-
propriate for some organization !
or individual to see that our
town have some memory of the\
power of the steam age I think l
it would be a fine tiling for us i

gine) our children and our chil-
dren’s children to have a steam !
locomotive permanently located I
in Ennis for all to see. I have in I
mind preferably in front of the 1
railroad station in the center of j
town, on the parkway of thej

To Open Drills
Friday Morning
The Ennis Higii Lions will)
open training for the 1956 grid
season Friday morning.
Head Coach B. F. Clifton an-
nounced that the team will be
on the field by 8 a.m. Friday
morning for their first workout.
A second drill will start al 5
p.m.
Two a day drills will be held
Friday. Saturday and Monday.
School opens Tuesday after
which regular evening drills will
be held each day.
Some 46 candidates are ex-
pected to report for the o|>eiiing
workouts Friday morning. They
will vie for berths on the A and
B strings.
Assisting Clifton, who was a
Baylor Bear back field star, will
be Line Coach Sam Pope, an all-
conference lineman at S a in
Houston State. Both came here
1 from Scaly, where they have
just won two straight district
championships.
Howard McDonald, who play-
ed at Shriner Institute and
graduated at Texas U.. will be
B team coach. He comes here
The nickname for Dartmouth f
College athletic teams is in-!
