MOSCOW. USSR iUPi—Radio
Moscow says one of Russia's
ousted leaders has a new job.
The Moscow broadcast said
former Deputy Premier Georgi
Malenkov has been appointed
manager of a hydroelectric* pow-
er station in Soviet Asia.
The new job amounts to vir-
tual banishment for Malenkov,
since the power station is some
2.000 miles from Moscow, near
the Red Chinese and Mongolian
borders.
The Moscow report apparently
confirmed speculation that at
least some of the deposed lead-
ers would not face trials for
crimes against the state.
It had been reported that
Malenkov and Kaganovich would
lx* given posts in industry and
that Molotov probably would be
assigned to theoretical work.
