$500 County Scholarships
CLIFTON — Ten $500
scholarships have been awarded by
the Bosque County (Clifton) Rotary
Club to selected Bosque County high
school graduates. The students plan
to attend a college, university, or
vocational institution.
This year’s choices include
Clifton High School. Alinda Ruth
Ficklin, Gregory Gentry, Clayton
Jack Kennedy, Alonso E. Soto, Gloria
Alicia Vega, Jason Don Whitney, and
Chad Olson.
Meridian High Kari Dixon and
Anna Lee Reinke.
Walnut Springs High Rachael
Christian.
The recipients were chosen from
among a large number of applicants

the Rev. Peter K. Anderson, club
president; President-Elect Coke
Gibbs, and Past President Richard D
Lundberg. chairman
The latest awards bring to 113 the
number of scholarships given by
Bosque County Rotanans since 1976
The grants have totaled $44,500
during that period, according to
President Anderson
The scholarshipsare financed from
proceeds from Rotary’s annual Jack
Russell Memorial Golf Tournament
and contributions from individuals,
businesses, and organizations.

throughout its eight-campus system

To Participate In Graduation Exercise
WACO — Adults who have
received GED certificates or adult
high school diplomas are invited to
participate in the Adult Education
Graduation, sponsored by McLennan
Community College.
MCC’s Adult Education
Department will host the annual
event at 8 p.m., Thursday, July 7, in
Waco Hall at Baylor University.

In U.S. Air Force
ARLINGTON — Jason L. Cox,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry C. Cox,
Cranfills Gap, enlisted in the Air
Force’s DelayedEnlistmentProgram.
Cox, a 1993 Cranfills Gap
graduate, reports for enlistment May
25. Upon graduating the Air Force’s
six-week basis training course, he is
scheduled to receive technical
training in the mechanical careers
field.
Cox will earn credits toward an
Associate in Applied Sciences degree
through the Community College of
the Air Force while attending basic
and technical training schools.

BELTON — The University of
Mary Hardin-Baylor Nursing
Pinning Ceremony was held May 13
in W.W. Walton Chapel on the
campus. During the awards part of
the program, RN student Kim Grelle
of Clifton received the Clinical
Excellence Award.
The award exemplifies outstanding
ability in the clinical setting.
