TEX Theatre, and The Clifton
Record, the event will begin at <L3ii

Candidates in all county races,
as well as those seeking posts with
the 220th Judicial District, as a
Texas or U S. representative, or
with the 10th Court oi Appeals, will
be invited to attend Those in con
tested races will be given up to five
minutes to address the crowd,
while those in uncontested races
will have a shorter time limit. Can
didates will be invited to remain
after the addresses to visit with
local citizens and answer their
questions.
Calvin Rueter will serve as the
event's master of ceremonies
Those attending will receive a free
bag of popcorn compliments of the
CLIFTEX. Other concession
stand items will be on sale during
the event, and there is no admis
sion charge.
Members of First Baptist
Church of Lakeside Village will
host a candidate’s night Thursday,
March 4, in the fellowship hall be

didates on the ballot in Bosque
County as well as the public are
invited toattend. The evening will

last Saturday night during the 34th
annual Clifton Chamber of Com
merce Banquet held at The Armoi y
in Clifton City Park.

Herzog paid special tribute to
Chamber Executive Vice-Presi-
dent Trudy Sheffield, who he
said gives of her time and tal
ents “a whole lot more than
people realize,” and thanked
her for helping him “tremen
dously” during his two years as
Chamber president.
He also paid thanks to Renee
Kettler, who served as this
year’s banquet chairman.
“She worked day and night
for weeks and months, and did
a fabulous job,” Herzog re
ported.
Herzog said the Chamber can
be summed up in two words
“friends” and “choices.”
“You have all chosen a path
to make our Chamber great,
and you are loyal to your Cham

Chamber’s accomplishments
the past year. Herzog said he is
sure tin’ Chamber is “going to
achieve pi ogress that will ben
efit allot Bosque County" in
2004 and in year's lo come. He
said he is especially proud of
I he growing partnershijis between
the Chamber and the City of Clif-
ton, and between the Chamber
and other organizations through
out the community.
He then reminded the gatli
ering to always salute the
American Flag, because il is
symbolic of freedom and for
what the nation stands for.
“1 have just two more words,
but those words express a lot."
Herzog added.
“Thank you.”
Chamber Ambassadors
Chairman Joann Gloff intro
duced the members of the Ain
bassadors, a group-of people
she called the “eyes and ears”
of the Clifton Chamber of Com
merce. They include Jerry and
Jo Cash, Linda Gary. Truth
Sheffield, Tom Henderson, Jim
Smith, Helen Habler. Missy
Boyette, Ken and Lexio Van
Tassel, and Earl Huse. Gloff
presented each ambassador
present with a token of the
Chamber s appreciation.
“These are all lovely indi
viduals. good workers, and will
do anything we ask them to do,
and do it with a smile,” Gloff
said.
The evening’s festivities con-
cluded with a live auction per
formed by Torn Henderson, and
the reading of the winners of
the silent auction items, with a
dance that followed

PAST-PRESIDENT AL HERZOG (right) was presented with a plaque
of appreciation from 2004 President Raymond Zuehlke last Saturday
night. Herzog recently completed two terms as the Clifton Chamber of
Commerce's president.
IT FINALLY DAWNED ON HIM! — As the biography of this year's Clif
ton Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award was being read,
it took awhile before Calvin Rueter,-shown with his wife Nadine, real
ized he was the man to be honored.
