entertainers during the Christmas
on the Square and Christmas in the
Park events. Entries are coming in

Run and Walk
| The fourth annual Jingle Bell
Fun Run and Walk will be held on
®ec. 2. This is a great opportunity
to get the holiday season started on
the nght foot with a little fun and
txercise with coworkers, family and
friends
The 3-mile/5K route will begin
at the Lion Stadium track and tour
through town. Groups and individu-
als alike have enjoyed this event
aver the last few years.

Top finishers
The top finishers for the race will
receive trophies. We will also give
awards to the top finishers in each
age division. Others will receive
participation awards. Age divisions
are for men and women in these
groups: under 12, 12-14, 15-16, 17-
18, 19-59, 60 and over
For those more interested in fun
than speed, we will have other
awards. There will be a trophy for
the best holiday outfit for one per-
son. We will also have a trophy for
the largest group of holiday dressed
participants.
Leggett ISD board hosts
public hearing on AEIS
Registration has started at the
Parks and Recreation office at
Pedigo Park and continues through
Friday. Dec. 1. Fees for participa-
tion are only $8 for early registra-
tion through Dec. 1. Late registra-
tion on the day of the event will be
$12. There is a family discount of
$2 for each additional participant
from the same immediate family.

ties or by calling our office at 327-

LEGGETT - A public hearing
for discussion of the Academic Ex-
cellence Indicator System Repon
for the 1999-2000 school year will
be held by the Board of Trustees of
the Leggett Independent School
District at 6 p.m. Thursday, prior
to the regular monthly meeting of
the board at 6:30 p.m.
The board will appoint a trustee
to the Polk County School Land
Task Force and will also discuss
County Judge John Thompson's
request for the district’s approval
regarding the bid process for the oil
and gas lease of the remaining por-
tion of Polk County school land in
Throckmorton.
Guidelines for district drug test-
ing of students in extra-curricular
activities will be discussed and con-
sidered for approval.
The board will also discuss aid
consider approval of the dally rates
for substitute teachers in the district
and Update No. 63 of the Texas
Association of School Boards pol-
icy. manual
The textboqfc committee for
2000-2001 willbe considered for
approval.
The board will consider approval
of the employee health insurance
carrier for the Dec. 1, 2000-Dec. 1,
2001 time period and the school
district's contribution toward the
employee portion of the insurance.
A request regarding the electric
lines to the school trailer location
will be discussed.

monthly financial statement and
will also discuss and consider ap-
proval of the audit report for the
1999-2000 school year,
