Homecoming At
Hartburg To Be
Held August 28
The Hartburg Community
Thirteenth Annual Homecom-
ing will lie held on Saturday,
Aug. 28, for old-timers and
their families of the Commun-
ity and anyone alse who has
ever lived in or around the
area or ever been acquainted
around Hartburg. Those now
living m the community, and
other interested persons have
also been invited to enjoy an-
other old-time get-together.
This homecoming will be the
same as all previous ones. All
who can have been asked to
bring a basket dinner — what-
ever they can or wish to bring.
Dinner will be served picnic
style as usual, and, in addition
to the basket dinner, there will
be free barbecue and coffee.
Soft drinks will be sold.
The homecoming will again
be held at the Oak Groves
Church grounds, but it is nei-
ther sponsored by nor affiliated
with any church. The church
grounds have always been cho-
sen for this occasion, because
was once the first old school
ground in Hartburg.
The entertainment will be by
the old-time fiddlers as usual.
No alcoholic beverages will
be allowed. Starting time is
!):00 a.m. and the affair will
last all day, B. E. Perkins said.

Puppet Theatre
At Pine Plaza
Southwestern Bell’s new
TeleTheatre, an exhibit trailci
featuring “little people,” will be
in Silsbee on Aug. 16 for one
day at Pine Plaza Shopping

handcrafted puppets that seem
lo come alive — with no strings
attached — as the history of
telephones is told in song and
story.
“This is probably one ot the
most unusual traveling ex-
hibits anywhere in the United
Slates," said Gary Pirchcr,
manager for South western Boll.
"The puppets make the exhibit
treatment of historical and
scientific events will appeal to
adults as well.”
Activated by 53 small electric
motors, the 13 performing pup-
pets animate the story of com-
munications in a series of six
vignettes. The stories range
from Mr. Bell’s first telephone
conversation to a sneezing com-
puter that’s just diagnosed a
treat for youngsters, but the person’s ills via telephone lines.

school year, the Commandant
invited all area Reserve and
National Guard officers to en-
roll in the appropriate course
to help satisfy requirements
for promotion and "better qual-
ify them lor present and fu-
ture duties."
Fall classes will be offered
in the following categories, ac-
cording to Lt. Col. Jack D.
Hedge: Branch Officer Basic
ICourse, Branch Officer Ad-
vanced Course, Command and
General Staff College, and the
I Industrial College of the Armed
Forces.
Lt. Col. Hedge continued. "A

Beaumont, will bring an im-
