Why is She Holding the Fork?
“That’s what I want people to ask.” Martha was describing details
of her funeral to the funeral director. They had a lengthy discussion
regarding music, flowers, and guests. When the director asked if she
had any special requests, she said, “I would like to be buried with
my Bible in one hand and a fork in the other.” The director had a
puzzled look on his face. Martha then went on to say that after every
church dinner, dessert was served. When she was told she could keep
her fork, she knew she was getting the good stuff! Not ice cream
or pudding, but cherry pie or chocolate cake! “When they told me I
could keep my fork, I knew the best was yet to come!”
By pre-planning your funeral, your wishes will be carried out
and you will spare your loved ones the emotional distress of making
decisions on your funeral arrangements at one of the hardest times of
their lives.
Our professional staff is here to help you prearrange a funeral
service that will accommodate you and your family’s needs. You
will have peace of mind knowing that your family will not be left
wondering if you wanted to “keep your fork” to show that the best is
yet to come!”
