AREA DEATHS
Marie Pearl Glaeser
Marie Pearl Ake Glaeser, age 92,
died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, in an
Archer City nursing center.
A memorial service was held at
11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11,1998, at
the Archer City Church of Christ with
Derland Bahr, Minister, and Roger
Deerin water, Pastor of the First Bap-
tist Church of Archer City, officiat-
ing. Arrangements were under the
direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Glaeser was born September
9, 1905, in Kansas City, Missouri.
She and Hank Glaeser were married
February 6, 1972, in Los Angeles,
California. He died November 2,
1975.
She was a veteran of World War II
while serving in the United States Air
Force. She was employed by Sawtelle
Veterans Hospital in Santa Monica,
California, before moving to Archer
City, Texas, in 1979. She was also a
Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter,
Elinor Atchley of Archer City, Texas;
one grandson, Mike Atchley of Round
Rock, Texas; one granddaughter,
Connie Martin of Breckenridge,
Texas; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to
Archer Public Library, P. O. Box
957, Archer City, Texas 76351.
Vivian R. Hill
Vivian R. Hill, 65, died Saturday,
July 1 1, 1998, at her home in
Frankston, Texas. Funeral services
were Monday, July 13th, at Thomp-
son Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston
with Rev. Randy Wallace officiating.
Burial was in the Frankston City Cem-
etery.
Mrs. Hill was born August 7, 1932
in Archer City, Texas. She had lived
in Frankston since 1980, moving there
from Irving, Texas. She was an Ad-
mitting Clerk at Community Hospital
and was a member of First Baptist
Church in Frankston.
She is survived by two sons, Will
iam M. Johns, Jr. and Robert D. Johns,
both of Frankston; one daughter,
Linda Sue Barr of Irving, Texas; three
sisters, Mildred Morris of Berry ville,
Texas, Sylvania Dwyer of Wichita
Falls, Texas and Juanita Byrd of Ar-
cher City; seven grandchildren, two
great-grandchildren, several nieces
and nephews and her friend, Fred
Warden.

Hello! The Chamber has been
busy the last two weeks. Wehadour
first "Poker Walk" on July 7th anal
had a great turnout. Fifteen walkers,
and two bike riders participated in
the two mile walk. Linda Whitaker
of Archer City had the winning poker
hand. Congratulations, Linda! The
next walk will be July 23rd at 7:45
p.m., starting at the Windthorst Na-
tional Bank, Archer City Branch.

grades. Eva Dyer has age 5 and kindergarten, and Theresa Henry will teach ages
3 and 4.
Evelyn King, Christine Hammontree, Dolly Harney, Lena Kinsey, and Eldon
McWhorter will serve cookies and kool- aid. Any of the teachers or refreshment
committee will accept calls for transporting children to and from the school.
Mr. Bahr began his work with the Archer City church May 24, 1998, after
receiving his bachelor's degree in pulpit ministry from Abilene Christian
University. Mr. Bahr graduated from the Center for Christian Education in
Dallas, Texas, prior to his admission at A.C.U. He and his wife, Candy, are from
Copperas Cove, where they were newly married in May. The young couple
resides at 213 West Mesquite, Archer City, Texas.

Antelope Jamboree
The Antelope Jamboree will be gath-
ering again, on July 18, at the Ante-
lope Community Center.
Musicians are invited, as is the pub-
lic, and kids are welcome.
There will be door prizes, including
western art by Wichita Falls artist
Montana Blue, and home cooked food:
pies, cakes, sandwiches, hot dogs, bar-
becue, popcorn.
The Jamboree will begin at 6:00
p.m.
Christian Mother
Society Hold July
Meeting
The Christian Mothers' Society held
their July meeting in Parish Hall meet-
ing room. Volunteers are needed to
drive those helping with the bingo
parties at the Archer Nursing Home.
Reception of new members will be
held Wednesday, July 29th after the
evening mass. If anyone would like to
join or knows someone who would
like to join, contact Gloria Schroeder
at 423-6659 or any officer.
Christian Mothers' Society is a spiri-
tual and charitable organization of
Christian mothers who need to pray
for the salvation of their spouses and
children. We work for the church and
have fund raisers for the charities we
support. We make and donate a quilt
for the Annual Picnic Auction. We
make articles for the nursing homes
and sponsor a monthly party for the
inhabitants there. We are attempting
to start a group to make rosaries for the
missions. Our next Northwest Dean-
ery meeting of the NCCW will be

of Peace in Wichita Falls. If you wish
to attend, please call Anna Mae
Veitenheimer. Meeting closed with
prayer.
