to see her mother, Mrs. Patter-
son, who has been ill again. She
and her husband returned home

Mrs. Phillips' sister, Mrs. Mary

Barbara and Wanda Combs.
Sammy Combs is home on a
furlough visiting his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Jeff Combs and his
wife, Minnie Lou. Minnie Lou
will return to San Antonio with
Sammy when he goes back to
camp.
Helen Weaver of Dallas, Ken-
neth Eugene and Gay Nell Wea-
ver pf Navarro and William Clif-
ford Howell were week-end vis-
itors in the Clyde Mahoney home.
Saturday visitors were Mrs. Ma-
honey’s brother, Jodie Minatra
and family of Powell. Jodie was
carried to the Memorial Hos-
pital Sunday night. He has just
had the mumps and now seems
he almost has pneumonia.
Little Billie Anette Howell
spent Saturday afternoon with
her aunt, Mrs. Inez Howell. Mr.
and Mrs. Houston ^Phillips of
Dallas were dinner guests in the
Wilson Howell home Sunday.
Mrs Hazel Goines and children.
Inez and William Morris were
Sunday evening visitors in the
Earl Henderson home.
Mrs. Herman Howell and
daughters visited Mr. and Mrs.
H. H. Trent and Mrs. WTill Bru-
ner Sunday.
Mrs. Arlis Harris, stepmother
of Mrs. Will Bruner returned
home with her son Ballard Har-
ris and family of Mineral Wells.
Mrs. Harris had been with Mrs.
Bruner during the illness and
death of her husband. Harold
Dean Bruner returned home last
Thursday from Korea where he
has been serving in the U. S.
Army the past two years. Har-
old Dean learned of his father’s;
passing away when he arrived in
Dallas and went to his brother’s
Earl Bruner. They were both vis-
iting in Rural Shade Friday.
Mrs. A. B. Tarkington, Mr. and
Mrs. I. C. Tarkington visited Mr.
and Mrs. Preston Ferguson and
girls Sunday. Sammie Ferguson,
spent the week-end with Bonnie
Green.
Mr. and Mrs. Jairl Wade Rad-
Hev of Dallas were week-end,
visitors in the homes of Mr. and,
Mrs. Buddy Radnev and Mr. and
Mrs Richard Parker.
Ronnie Massey of Waco spent
the week-end with Dickie Allen.
Mrs. Edna Smith, Mr. and Mrs.
Johnny Griffin and children of

young ladies goes the title of
“Princess” of her calss. One of
them will be “Queen of the May
Fete” at the coronation to be
held in the high school auditor-
ium April 30.
The Sophomore and Freshman
classes have not held their elec-
tions at this time, however, their
class representatives are not eli-
gible to be crowned as royal
monarchs. Their Princess and
Prince will take the regular part
in regal ceremonies as they have
during the past few years.
Navarro County stepped into
5th place in cotton production
in the state of Texas, with 61,-
609 bales for the 1936 season,
according to the1 report received.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cloud and
Billy Cloud spent the week-end
in Denton with friends.
Mrs Flotie Beauchamp spent
the Easter holidays in Austin
’with her cousin, Mr. and Mrs.
Joel Clements. Kimmie Smith of
Baylor University accompanied
her from Waco.
