Ex-Hondoans
Leave For
>lew Tour
Five ex-Hondoans are in New
York today on their way to
“merry old England.”
M-Sgt. and Mrs. Walter C. Hay-
hoe and children, Richard,
Sherry and Gary, took off for
New York City from Municipal
Airport in San Antonio Monday
at 10 p.m.
M-Sgt. Hayhoe had been sta-
tioned at Hondo Air Base for
some 43 months prior to his
transfer to a base in England.
They had become quite well
known to many Hondoans.
While living in Hondo the Hay-
hoes resided at 1920 23rd Circle.
M-Sgt. Hayhoe was a military
inspector at Hondo Air Base dur-
ing his tour of duty here.
Hie Hayhoe children were
looking forward to the duty in
England with a rather philosophi-
cal attitude. “We’ll try not to
brag too much about Texas,” one
of them said just prior to their
departure.
A career airman, M-Sgt. Hay-
hoe is scheduled for a three-year
stay at his base in England.
Shortly after that time he will
be eligible for retirement from
the Air Force.
