Rev. and Mrs. C. L. Wil-
liams and daughters, Martha
Jane and Esther Marie, of
Gl&dewater, ' returned home
today after a short visit with
Mrs. Williams’ parents, Mr.
and Mrs. H. R. Fory of this
city.
An all home talent min-
strel will be given Friday
night, June 14. Money derived
will be given to Red. Cross.
Herman Noble of Shreve-
port, employe of the United
Gas Company of that city, is
visiting with Timpson friends
today. He is a former Tirap-
son citizen and is well known
throughout the section.
Remember tonight at mid-
night is the time for "Remem-
ber the Night"
“Fruit Day” activities have
been planned at Georgetown
on June 14 for rural families
in Extension Service District 8.
A second is scheduled at
Grand Prairie for Dallas coun-
ty people the following day.
On June 12 a similar event
was held at the Nacogdoches
Experiment Station for inter-
ested people in Extension
Service District 9.

Clifford L. Stone,
Henderson Lawyer,
To Be Buried Today
Henderson, June 7.—A bril-
liant public career that began
when a 21-year-old youth was
elected Rusk county sheriff
was ended Friday with the
death of Clifford L. Stone, 59,
prominent Henderson attor-
ney.
Final funeral rites will be
held here Saturday afternoon,
the Rev. Neal D. Cannon of
Jacksonville, officiating. Burial
will be in Henderson.
Stone's public career began
when he was elected' Texas’
youngest peaee officer, he later
served in the state legislature,
was county attorney, district
attorney, assistant attorney
general, and chief supervisor
of the oil and gas division of
the Texas railroad commission.
Later he was law partner of
Stone Weils, now of Houston.
That partnership was dissolv-
ed when Wells, a nephew,
was elected district attorney.
He is survived by his widow;
two children, Mrs. Mildred
Schmidt of Nacogdoches, and
Miss Jane Stone, Henderson;
three sisters, Mrs. Jim Gray
and Mrs. Perry Young, Hen-
derson and Mrs. Homer Wells
of Crockett; and two brothers,
Emerson Stone, Jacksonville
attorney, and Reagan Stone,
Rusk county deputy sheriff.

—The Treasury today ordered
postal and customs officers to
be on the lookout for all for-
eign securities mailed or im-
ported into the United States.
The order is designed to pre-
vent Germany from cashing
securities seized in invaded
countries.

Wilda, June 5.—Joel Mur-
phy, wife and baby retamed
home a few days ago after a
visit with her parents and
other relatives in town.
Miss Jimmie Windham is re-
covering nicely from an eye
operation at Timpson hospital.
Garland Britton and wife
spent part of the week-end
with Rudolph Whiteside and
wife.
Miss Blanche Whiteside
spent the week-end at home.
Mrs. Harvey Fletcher of Cot-
ton Valley, La., visited her
parents, R. Wood and family
last week.
Mrs. B. Weatherspoon and
baby returned home this week
after a visit with her parents,
J. M. Johnson and wife.
Mrs. Freeman Lake spent
the week-end with her parents.
Mr. Johnson of Fort Worth
visited his uncle, Jim Johnson
and other relatives Sunday.
