have- arrived for a visit with
the former's mother, Mrs. R.
0. Snelson of Timpson. The
sergeant is stationed at Kess-
ler Field, Mas.
Miss Addis Belle Bogard
Leaves For New York
Miss Addie Belle Bogard
left Thursday for New York
where she has accepted-a po-
sition with American Airlines,
Inc. She was accompanied as
far as Longview by her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Bo-
gard and from that city went
to Fort Worth where she will
make the remainder of the
trip to New York by plane.
Announcement has been
made of the marriage of Miss
Katherine Louise Richards,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.
W. Richards of this city, to En-
sign T. Russell Whiteside, U.
S. Coast Guard.
The wedding took place
Thursday night, July 1st in
New Orleans, at the parson
age of St. Charles Ave. Chris-
tian Church. Rev. W. R. (Bill)
Vivrett formerly of Weather-
ford, performed the double
ring ceremony.
The bride wore a powder
blue dress with white acces-
sories. '
Mrs. Whiteside received her
early education in the Weath-
erford schools, taking her B. S.
degree at TSCW in Denton.
For the past two years she has
been teaching in Sulphur
Springs.
Ensign Whiteside is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. White-
ride of Timpson, Texas. He
attended T. C. U. and is
graduate of Stephen F. Austin
State Teachers College, Nac
ogdoches.
Mrs. Whiteside will -return
home to spend the summer
with her parents.

Miss Rossbelle McLendon is
enjoying a visit of her friend,
Miss Sallie Cobb of Ferris.
The ladies are members of
Houston’s public school sys-
tem; Miss Cobb is a member
of riie faculty of Milam school.
Miss McLendon teaching in
Elliott school. Miss McLen-
don is spending the summer in
Timpson with her aunts, Mrs.
G. E. Hairston, Miss Mina Mc-
Lendon and family of her
uncle and aunt. Mr. and Mrs.
R. Hairston.
Rev. George Harbuek and
mother, Mrs. J. S. Harbuek,
arrived this week from Alta
Loma, where the Rev. Har-
buck has held the pastorate of
Alta Loma Methodist church
for the past two and one-half
years. He has been appointed
to the Duke Foundation scho-
larship at Duke University of
Durham, N. C., and will take
up his studies, after spending
several weeks in Timpson.
Rev. Harbuek has been
granted a two years’.leave of
absence by tbe Methodist con-
ference.
