Miss Mildred Marie Sehnak
berg of Sioux City, Iowa, and
First Sergeant C. L. Sherrod of
Timpson, were united in mar-
riage July 1, in Los Angeles,
Calif-, according to announce-
ment received here.
Sgt Sherrod is a son of G.
W. Sherrod of Timpson. He
served overseas about three
and one-half years in the U. S.
army, and is now stationed at
Camp Cook, Calif.
Hr. and Mrs. J. H. Snelson
of Huntington are spending
several days in Timpson,
Wedge worth and the Garrett
Springs sector, with relatives
and friends. The Snelsons are
former residents of this com-
munity, moving to Huntington
about flve years ago. Another
former Timpson family, Mr.
and Mrs. A. L. Youngblood, at
Huntington for the past sever-
al years, are getting along
nicely, Mr. Snelson stated.
Mrs. Rex Brinson, chief
clerk of the Shelby County Ra-
tiosing Board, is enjoying a
week’s vacation, which she is
■pending at home.
Mbs Nellwyn Gasway of
Ho jston spent last week-end

Miss Clovis Sanders, student
SPA College, Nacogdoches,
spent last week-end at home
visiting her mother, Mrs.

Sunday afternoon Mrs. T. J.
Molloy gave a tea honoring
her daughter, Mimi, and an-
nouncing her engagement and
approaching marriage to Don
Blount Hoskins of Austin.
For this occasion the home
was decorated with ferns and
numerous, baskets, these con-
taining zinnias, vinca, lillies
and other summer Cowers in
soft pastel shades. Electric
candles and white tapers light-
ed the living rooms through-
out the reception hours.
Mrs. W. M. Byrn greeted
each guest and then little Miss
Martha Boucher, who was a
veritable kewpie in her pink
net frock, showered with tiny
silver bows, handed to each
the announcement scroll in-
scribed is gold "Mimi sad
Don, September 4, 1943.”
The hostess presented the
guests to her daughter Mimi.
As befitting a bride, her frock
was of white embossed or-
gandy, its entire skirt length
covered with myriads of ruf-
fles, its bodice made of white
dailies- In her hair die wore
pink rosebuds.
Mrs. R. T. Blair, the grand-
mother of the bride-elect, was
at her left and ushered the
guests to the bride’s book. The
bride’s book waa of white
moire, the front being grid
embossed and bearing her
name aad that of her fiancee.
Mrs. Freak Jones graciously
presided here. She wore an
evening dress of flame jersey.
Miss Madge Boucher was at
the piano rendering love bal-
lads as “Deep In My Heart,”
“One Kim” and “Sweet-
hearts.” Her dress was of dot-
ted organdy frilled in red.
Mesdamet George Hutcher-
son and Otis McFadden usher-
ed the guests into the dining
room. There they were wel-
comed by Miss Rebecca Tay-
lor, who was at the tea cart.
Her dress was of navy organdy
and trimmed in white.
The table was overlaid with
an.all-lace cloth. R was center-
ed with a lew crystal howl
holding pink throated water
lillies. These wore banked
with green ice cubes, the whole
reflected in the mirror on
which it rested. Miss Beth
Hutcherson served the fruit
punch. Her frock was an iee
bine mousseiis de soi, trim-
--d in pink ruaebads.
Mrs. Hersc he! McDaniel
and Mies Doris Bans assisted
in serving. The dainty sand-
wiches which were . in the
shape of hearts aad bells, were
embellished with pink :
buds. The individual cakes
formed white prayer baaki,
each bearing a tiny gold crass
on their ieeiiig and having a
marker of narrow satis rib-
bon.
- Mrs. McDaniels dress was in
white with dubonaet trim aad
Mias Burns’ was a floral pique.
The mints were in rueetmd
shape featuring the eh
color of green and pink.
The tea napkins bare the
same inscription as on the
bride’s book.
