Schuehle announces
he’ll seek another term
The Anvil Herald has been
authorized to publish the following
statement.
"I, Hunter Schuehle have announ-
ced for re-election as County Attor-
ney in the March 8th Democratic
Party primary.
"I have represented you the tax-
payers in over 10,000 criminal
County Court cases, over 600 juve-
nile cases, and hundreds of J.P.
cases in Castroville, Devine and
Hondo. 1 have attended and advised
the Medina County Commis-
sioner's Court in over 550 formal
meetings and have represented the
County of Medina in at least 60
civil lawsuits. In addition I have col-
lected thousands of dollars in restitu-
tions for the merchants of Medina
County through my Hot Check Pro-
gram. I do not have any assistants
and only have one full time secre-
tary (Pedie Ginnow).
"Over $2,000,000.00 in fines,
costs and fees have been assessed in
the County Court alone since 1
have been in office. No fines or fees
are assessed Without a plea of guilty
first. I plea bargain when I can and
every plea bargain I have ever made
was first approved by County Court
at Law Judge Joe Briscoe and
County Judge Jerome Decker.
"I have served as chairman of the
Veterans Land Board of Medina
Gounty for six years and have ap-
proved hundreds of land applicati6ns
without any pay or compensation. I
practice very little, if any, law on
the side as I believe it would be a
conflict of interest to represent the
State and private persons at the
same time.
"While attending St. Mary's Law
School in San Antonio I worked in
the District Attorney's office as a
criminal investigator and upon grad-
uation I became an Assistant Dis-
trict Attorney. 1 have represented
you the people as a prosecutor for
over 14 years. My whole legal
career has been devoted to trying to
protect the people as the people's
attorney.

"I have tried to be fair but firm

ask you for your vote so that 1 may
continue to represent you the citi-
zens of Medina County. Hunter

nounce my candidacy for Constable
of Pet. 1 subject to the March 8,
1988 Democratic Primary .
"1 feel that I am well qualified to
serve the people in Pet. 1 due to the
experience I received while serving
in Pet. 4 and 5 for approximately
10 years as Constable.
"I took my duties very seriously
and endeavored to carry them out as
they should be.
"I have been- a resident and tax-
payer in Medina County for 49
years. 1 am a graduate of San Anto-
nio- College Police Academy and
am a Texas Certified Peace Officer.
1 also hold numerous certificates in
specialized training namely, White
Collar Crime, Rape Homicide, Fin-
gerprint Science, Advanced Finger-
printing, Narcotics and Dangerous
Drugs, Emergency Spanish, Search
issued an Intermediate Certificate by
Gov. Mark White.
"1 feel that having a qualified
working Constable to serve war-
rants and civil papers could save the
county the price of a Specialized
Warrant Officer. As I understand
there is a huge backlog of papers
that need to be served and I pledge
to the people that all warrants and
papers that come to my hand will
be served by me.
"1 also pledge that those who
dump garbage on our public roads
will be required to pick up their
trash or be prosecuted.
"1 promise to serve each one equ-
ally regardless of their race, color,
creed or station in life. I like people
and it gives me great satisfaction to
be able to give help where help is
needed.
Harvey L. Bradley
"1 sincerely solicit the vote and
support of the people in Precinct
1„ Medina County and piomis'e to
perform my duties as your Con-
stable to the best of my ability. H.
L. Bfadley, Natalia.
Constable Burell
will run for re-elec|i
ion
Robert "Ratzy" Burell has an-
nounced that he intends to seek re-
election as Constable in Precinct #2
with the following statement.
"I, Robert "Ratzy" Burell, Jr., do
hereby announce my Candidacy for
re-election for the office of Con-
stable Precinct #2 of Medina
Cpunty. I am a native of Castro-
ville and have lived in Medina
County all my life. I am a graduate
of St. Louis High School and a
member of St. Louis Catholic
Church. My wife is the former Rae
Belzung and we have been married
for 40 years. My family has been
associated with law enforcement
since 1920.
"Since 1 was elected as your Con-
stable of Precinct #2 in 1984, I
have attended several seminars and
in-service training schools during
the past three years to keep abreast
of the ever-changing laws. I am cap-
able of speaking Spanish. I feel this
is extremely important for any of
our public official^ considering our
large Hispanic population.
Robert "Ratzy" Burell
"1 will most certainly be grateful
for your vote and support in the up-
coming Democratic Primary Elec-
tion and if 1 am re-elected as your
Constable of Precinct #2, I will
treat everyone fairly and equally,
Robert (Ratzy) Burell, Constable
Pet. #2, Castroville."
