The activity department
hits been very busy the past
week The ceramic workers
have just about finished all
the orders, so if you had one
come by and pick it up
W e have had' a couple of
groups to come sing for
residents The Baptist
Church Kindergarden came
to entertain residents on
Thursday. There was quite a
group of pre-schoolers and
could they sing! They really
seemed to enjoy the songs
and were excited about
Christmas, Residents had a
good time watching and
listening to them sing. We
thank the children and their
teachers for coming to sing
for us.
Thursday evening the
D’Hanis Camp Fire Group
sang carols for residents.
Again there was quite a
group of girls and they
sounded very good They
also brought cookies and
punch for residents. This
was a t reat and we thank the
girls and their leaders for
coming to bring the Christ-
mas Spirit to our home.
This was birthday party
week for our residents. The
ladies from St Paul Luthe-
ran Church came with deli
clous cakes and along with
punch we helped those res!
dents having birthdays in
December celebrate. Before
having refreshments, we
played games. Game win-
ners were Pauline Bourquin
and Hilda Haby Door prize
winner was Lena Grahtrm.
We thank the ladies for
bringing cakes and Nelwvn
Art League
News
The League members met
at the home of Mrs. Cissy
Rabogliatti on Thursday,
December 13th for their
annual’Christ mas party A
very enjoyable time was had
hy all those attending Mrs
Kabogliatti’s home was
beautifully decorated for the
Christmas season with the
Christmas spirit being evi-
dent throughout the home
Tables were filled wfthj
traditional Christmas dips
and chips wit h a hiuch, varied
covered dish luncheon being
served at noon.
A drawing was held lor
the ' doll house" which had
been completely furnished
by the members Mrs.
Dorothy Bendele of Castro-
vtlle was the happy winner.
The next League meeting
w ill be held on January 3rd
at the Gallery.

Devine Police Chief John
DeLaCruz reports the
number of recent,, break-ins
in the Devine area has
dropped oft the past several
weeks
The Chief said nearly 30
guns have been stolen dur-
ing the past three-and-one-
half months w ith most of the
activity since November
However. DeLaCruz said
there have been no reported
burglaries of homes, busi
ness places or vehicles since
early this rmnth
DeLaCruz did report the
arrest of two local juveniles
recently.

The big event for the
week was the judging of our
residents doors. We asked
the nursing students to
judge the doors and they did
an excellent job. Winning ! st
lace were Mrs. Bertha Hart-
man and Mrs. Hattie John-
son. Second place went to
Mrs. Pauline Mergele and
Mrs. Pauline Bourquin.
Third Place winners was
Mrs. Noreen Kent and Mrs
Emma Hoog and Mrs Mat
hilde Falkenberg won
honorable mention

others that have been so
beautifully done. Thanks to
all the families who worked
to decorate their, resident s'
