KWTORIAL COMMENT.. THE BAfcTLETT TRIBUNE
Friday March 2 1956
Red Cross Dollar Takes Aid To Needy
It seems that we are called
6n pretty often during the ear-
ly part of each year for con-
tributions to various worthy
causes and this year is no ex-
ception. Another drive gets un-
der way next week.
All of the drives are for good
causes and we would hate to
try to distinguish between
them but certainly the one
coming up the annual Red
Cro drive is one which we
can contribute to and know
that the money contributed will
jff to aid iiomconc who at the
moment need nid and is in no
pUlon to help himself.
The Red Cross has a long
record of wonderful work not
only in cases of national dis-
aster but also in less known
smaller disasters within the
county
Christ spent His life minis-
tering to His fellow man and
left us instructions to continue
that ministry. Often we think
of rendering such aid as a per-
sonal individual relationship
but we wonder if it is not just
as important to send aid
through the contributions wo
make when we cannot go in
person to administer it.

OF FACTS AND FUN
Bp Nora Robert and Son
We've heard tales of the bride
waiting at the altar for the
bridegroom who never annear-
ed we learned this week that
the bridegroom was almost left
at the altar Saturday evening. It
seems that George Mastrovich
was to bring his daughter Syl-
via to the church and his car
wouldn't start.
"Fats" Saage was standing on
the outside of the door eating
a large piece of pie. advertising
the Lion's Club Chili supper
last Monday evening. Ho was
roally suppore to bo selling tic-
kets. People naturally think of
food when they get a glimpae
of "Fata" the pie oating exhibi
tion juiit waan't necemmry.
Darlene Broone was quite un-
happy Wednesday when she
went home and found that her
gardner had planted onion sets
on the top of her freshly plant-
ed potatoes. Knowing Darlene
we have an idea what she was
saying as she went crawling
down the row pulling up and
replanting those onions.
ii
It is time to put those rose
bushes into the ground. Dig
the holes deeper and wider than
bushes to allow for spreading
of the roots. Fill the bottom
of the hole with neat moss lrnf
mold and barnyard fertilizer or
sneep manure mixed well with
some of the garden soil.
Prune late flowering shrubs
and fruit trees and cut off nil
dead wood from all trees shrubs
and roses. Burn this woody ma
terial to (lostroy possible In-
ccla and their eggs and dls-
oasca.
