Former postmaster dies in LaCoste
Mr. Alex E. Jungman. 81,
of LaCoate died Sunday; Mar.
2, 1969.
A native of C astroville, he
was born July 27, 1887. He
was a former LaCoste post-
master and was a director of
the LaCoste National Bank
at the time of his death.
Survivors are his widow,
Mrs. Rosa Jungman of LaCoste;
two sons, Alex Jungman, Jr„
San Antonio^ and Bernard H.
Jungman, Kingsville; a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Charles Embrey; San
Antonio; nine grandchildren
and seven great-grandchil-
dren.
Rosary was recited at Ton-
dre Chapel Tuesday evening.
Funera 1 services were held
there Wednesday afternoon
followed by Requiem Mass at
Our Lady of Grace Catholic
Church, with the Rev. Leo
Goertz as celebrant.
Burial was in the church
cemetery, LaCoste, direc-
tion of Tondre Funeral Hom^
Castro ville.
Pallbearers were Mr. Jung-
man's grandsons -- Bernard
Curtis and Robert Jungman;
James, and David Embrey and
Don Lawrence.

Miss Delina Poehler, 43 o.
Route 1, Hondo, died in a San
Antonio hospital Monday; Mar.
3, 1969.
She is survived by her par-
ents, Mr, and Mrs. Willie G.
Poehler; a brother, Milton G.
Poehler, all of Hondo; and a
sister, Mrs, Hilda Patterson of
Flores ville.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday afternoon from
Hurley Chapel with the Rev.
William Durkop of CXiihi Beth-
lehem Lutheran Church offi-
ciating.
Interment was in Oakwood
Cemetery, Hondo.
MRS. HERBERT KELLER
Funeral services for Mrs.
Herbert Keller, 64, of Uvalde,
were held Wednesday morning
at Tondre Chapel, Castroville
followed by Requiem Mass at
St. Louis Catholic Church.
Mrs. Keller died Sunday,
March 2, 1969. She is sur-
vived by her husband; t w o
sons, Malcolm and Carol Kel-
ler, both of San Antonio; a
daughter, Mrs. John McGee of
Kansas and 11 grandchildren.
Burial was in Our Lady of
Grace Catholic Cemetery, La-
Coste.

Funeral services for Mr.
Thomas Alfred Brleden were
held March 5, 1969, at Hur-
ley Chapel with Rev. Roe off-
iciating.
The son of Leopold and Ca-
therine Pichot Brieden, Mr.
Brieden was born Sept. 19,
1873, in Castroville., He died
March 2, in the Castroville
Hospital at the age of 95
years, 5 months and 11 days.
He was a retired farmer and
stockman. He had been a

of the Mocre Methodist
Church. In 1899, he married
Annie Rohrbach who died in
1914. Later, he was married
to Eliza Gillespie who sur-
vives him.
Also surviving are two
sons Olen Brieden, Yancey,
and Cecil Brieden, Colorado;
eight daughters, Mrs. Frank
(Rudy) Neuman, Mrs.Ed (Thel-
ma) Faseler of Yancey; Miss
Veda Brieden of Moore, Mrs.
Elmo (Bernice) Cockrell of
Arkansas; Mrs. Vernon (Lolete)
White, New Mexico; Mrs. Bill
(Florence) Morris of Pearland,
Texas; Mrs. Clyde (Lou) Du-
Bose of Blackcreek, Mrs. Joe
(Doris) Neugebauer of San An-
tonio; one sister, Mrs. T h e o
Cameron, Hondo; 22 grand-
children and 23 great-grand-
children.
Interment was in the Moore
Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Mr. Brieden's grandsons.

Martin Ney accompanied her
husband home after having
spent two weeks in Houston.

Frank McNabb Poeey, 84,
died Monday, Match 3, 1969,
at his home in San Antonio.
Many yean ago he had lived
in Hondo where he was in the
employ of the Schmidt and
Stelnhardt department store,
according to Dr. O. B.Taylor
who is among his friends here,
Mr. Posey is survived by
his widow, Mrs. Bertha Potey;
a son, Dr. Frank Posey and a
daughter, Mrs. Frank E. Klein,
all of San Antonio; four grand-
children, three brothen and
one sister.
Services were held W ed -
nesday morning at the Lorlng
Colonial Chapel, San Anton-
io. Entombment was in Sun-
set Memorial Park.

Results of agricultural dem-
onstrations conducted last
year in Medina County have
been published by Glenn
Bragg, county agent.
Demonstrations were
planned with the Medina
County Program Building Com-
mittee, and conducted by co-
operating farmers and ranch-
ers.
The booklet which is a-
vailable in the county agent's
office, lists results of nine

Doctor Anton B. Brucks of
Dallas will be installed as a
Fellow of The American Col-
lege of Obstetricians and
Gynecologists at its annual
meeting, April 28 - May 1,
in Bal Harbour, Florida.
Dr. Brucks is the son of
Mrs. E. W. Brucks of Hondo
and the late Ernest W. Brucks.
The College, which w a s
founded to promote the
health and medical cate of
women, accepts physicians
who specialize completely in
obstetrics and gynecology,
who have demonstrated clin-
ical ability by success-
ful completion of an examin-
ation, and who have been
judged by their colleagues as
competent and ethical physi-
cians.
Further, a Fellow must
have graduated from an ap-
proved medical school and
limited his practice to obste-
trics and gynecology for at
least five years prior to ap-
plying for membership in the
College.

ease, narrow row planting of
grain sorghum, corn v a r i e t y,
soybean, brush control ami
beef cattle.
Two fertilizer demonstra-
tions were conducted, One
was conducted to compare re-
sults of fertilization to no fer-
tilization, and to determine
effects of applying soil acti-
vator (Medina) on wheat. The
other fertilizer compared fer-
tilized land with land where
none was used,
A wheat demonstration and
one on grain sorghum com-
pared seed varieties, while
another on grain sorghum
checked tolerance to Maize
Drawf Mosaic Virus. Anoth-
er grain sorghum demonstra-
tion compared .yields result-
ing from different planting
methods.
Seed varieties were tested
in four white com and one
yellow corn demonstration.
In addition, an attempt
was made to check oh adapt-
ability of soybeans to county
soil, and two brush control
demonstrations were conduct-
ed.
Livestock demonstrations
consisted of one on grub con-
trol, and another on weaning
weights.
