BARTLETT TEXAS

In the past two years Bartlett Has seen many pro-
gressive changes. The most important has been the
change of attitude of our business men and citizens.
There has been a renewed faith in the future of our town.
This has been shown by the opening of nine new busi-
nesses during these past two years.
Progress is made by people who are not satisfied
to sit by and let their community wither away but are
willing to work to help fan the spark that will keep
Bartlett on the move.
One of the most important elements of progress is
a strong progressive city government. You must have
a group of men who are willing to cooperate with you
your Chamber of Commerce your school officials and
other civic groups that are working to improve our town.
This has been done.
There are many improvements that still need to
.be made. To attract new business and people we must
improve the appearance of our town bbth business and
residential areas.
During the past two years your city government
has spent almost $40000.00 above the normal budget
to make some very progressive jmnroyements. Vg assum-
ed -the cojmpJete"finajiciaI re.8p!pnsibjlity o our water
treatment plant. Vfe repqved our .streets and our sewer
plant had to be completely re-Syorkeq to brinj it back
to efficient operation. Due to the increased demands of
our citizens and Chamber of Commerce the Council de-
cided to build a new swinjming pojrI to Jmpro'ye our
recreational facilities. After all these extra expendi-
Uires our Qity is in tle hpstinl cgnditign it his been
