School To Dismiss
On December 20th
For Holidays
Supt. C. R. Lindsay has an-
nounced that the schools will bo
dismissed Wednesday afternoon
in time for the town Christmas
party.
This will be the beginning of
the Christmas holidays which
will continue through Jan. 1st.
School will resume Jan. 2nd at
the regular time.
Buses will provide transpor-
tation for thoso who want to go
to the town party and do not
have a way. The buses will run
from the REA building as soon
as the party is over.

At Baptist Church
The Mamie Daniel Amigas
Class of the First Baptist
Church met Thursday evening
in the fellowship hall of the
church to enjoy their annual
Christmas dinner.
The dining table was decor
ated with the traditional poin-
settias holly and greenery.
The invocation was given by
Mrs. Roy Stockton. Following
the meal. Mrs. Cecil Overby
class president welcomed those
present and wished each one a
happy holiday season.
Mrs. Horace Keith program
chairman introduced those tak-
ing part on the program. "Joy
To The World" and "Silent
Night" was sung by the group.
Mrs. Creth Lewis brought the
devotional using Luke 2:1-14.
The Christmas story "Innkeep-
er Too Busy To Notice Strang-
ers" was presented by Mrs.
Alice Jones. Special music
"Away In a Manger" was pre-
sented by Mrs. Tommy Shclton
and Mrs. Roy Stockton accom-
panied by Mrs. Grover Ponder.
Mrs. George Cagle closed the
program with prayer. Following
the program gifts were dis
tributed to each one present
from a beautifully decorated
Christmas tree.

Hold Progressive
Dinner Tonight
The Cornelia Wilson Garden
Club members and their hus-
bands as special guests will
have a "Progressive Dinner" to-
night (Thursday) December
14th.
The group will gather at the
home of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph
Clearman at 7 p. m. for hors
d'oeuvres and cocktails follow-
ed by a salad at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. George Mastro-
vich. From the Mastrovich home
the group will enjoy the main
dinner course which will be
served at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. C. F. Hill.
Following the dinner the
group will travel to the Maurice
Steglich home for the dessert
and also the Christmas tree.
