Georgetown Historical Society

Georgetown Heritage Society (GHS) is located in Georgetown, TX. As of February 2017, GHS is now known as Preservation Georgetown. We preserve and promote Georgetown’s heritage through preservation advocacy, education, and community engagement. Our organization has been working to preserve the past for future generations through education and information since 1977. Today, the Society enjoys a vibrant and diverse membership that is socially active, community minded and preservation conscious. Preservation Georgetown also has a fund dedicated to preservation of historic structures within the greater Georgetown area.

We decided to participate in The Portal to Texas History Digital Library because we have received several gifts of photographs to keep in our archives. We want our archives to be accessible to all who are interested in preserving Georgetown's rich past, even if they are unable to personally visit our library.
